Absolutely stunning Sunday Lunch. The staff were incredibly attentive & friendly. The meat was succulent, warm & delicious. One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve ever had! Highly recommend to anybody
Superb gastro pub food in a beautiful quiet village location. High quality fresh ingredients prepared with care. Our Sunday lunch did not disappoint.
The staff at the Four Pears squeezed my Dad and I in during a busy Sunday lunch service and although they made it clear the table was needed in an hour they never made us feel rushed.
The restaurant is modern and spacious, tables nicely spread out so you can hear yourself talk over the hum of the other diners.
The selection of 'Nibbles' we tried were lovely, whitebait, squid and halloumi fries.
I had the Lamb shoulder and Pork Belly Sunday roast. Everything was cooked beautifully, the meat tender and tasty. Veg was great and a lovely big Yorkshire pudding on top.
We will definitely be returning to try the lunch menu, the Steak and Ale pie is calling my name.
Our second visit to this pub last night. We were a table of 5, it was the Friday night Billingsgate fish night which meant their usual menu is paired back. It's a dog friendly pub, in bar area and presumably in the outside area, which is very nice. The decor and atmosphere is lovely.
The business is looking to hire a front of house manager, which is obviously needed as waiting staff were not being directed, they were standing around chatting and we had slow service. We gave up on ordering deserts as it was taking so long and just got the bill instead.
The food was good, on a par with other types of gastro pubs, but prawn cocktail starter was disappointing, two lettuce leaves and prawns in sauce, it could have been so much better. Main meals were nice, nothing exceptional, whole sea bass only came with veg, had to order and pay for chips separately. Chips were excellent.
Overall, a nice experience but not overwhelmed with the menu choices and value for money.
Great food at reasonable prices . Very friendly service. We got at there qt 4.15 not realising food isn't served til 5.30. The time soon passed and staff was very helpful, especially Toni who recommended the short rib, which Was out of this world , I highly recommend this place
We went to the Four Pears with friends for a nice dinner out and we weren't disappointed.
The pub is very tastefully decorated throughout with a warm, cosy, family friendly atmosphere. There was an open mic night on and it was great to see plenty of people in the lounge enjoying the live music although it was a little on the loud side even through in the restaurant area.
Staff were very friendly and our waitress, India was fantastic, very helpful and very attentive she looked after us really well.
The food was superb. I had scallops to start and they were beautifully cooked lovely and tender with some nice caramelisation on the outside. I then had the lamb which was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic. My wife had chicken which was tender and tasty.
For dessert I had Tarte tatin and my wife had a sponge pudding with bacon and Ice cream. Both desserts were excellent.
Cost wise it wasn't too bad. Three starters, four mains and four desserts, four gin and tonics, three bottles of decent wine two coffees and a port cost around the £250 Mark so £62 per head.
Overall it was a fantastic evening in a great setting with superb food and good wine. What more could anyone ask for!
We had a lovely meal there the food was fantastic could not fault it. My salmon dish was amazing well worth the price, very pretty place lovely atmosphere xx
Been to this place 3x and not been disappointed even once.
Friendly staff, and delicious roast dinner!!
You have to book to avoid disappointment!
Four Pears is a village pub and restaurant.
Always friendly and helpful staff.
Had a meal in the restaurant the weekend of the Coronation. They were quite happy for me to have two starters instead of a main meal. Food was excellent. Everybody reiterated the same experience.
Will definitely go again.
Good food at a reasonable price.
Service was very good.
We shared a few of the nibbles for starters - squid and Japanese prawns recommended.
Duo pork excellent as was the chicken risotto.
