The best afternoon tea i have ever had and such good value with both the savoury and sweet courses. Everything was so tasty and the cakes were to die for. I definitely recommend this place, i loved every bite � Thank you

Lovely afternoon tea and nice that you get some savoury items as well as sandwiches. But pretty full by the time we got the cakes and scones, however they do encourage you to take home what you leave. Also nice that any drinks you want are included and not just tea and coffee. Will definitely go again. Would recommend booking though as it is a small tea room.
Absolutely fabulous we went for afternoon tea it was amazing food was lovely and plenty of it and the staff were very good would highly recommend the dining rooms for a special treat

A Perfect Sunday Afternoon Tea from beginning to end. Everything made on site from scratch so Gluten free, Dairy free, Vegans all catered for with out fuss. Tasty, Friendly, Plentiful and Pretty. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Absolutely lovely! Brilliant selection of delicious sandwiches & savouries and then an even better selection of cakes! We need a doggy bag! Well worth a visit and ask for a window table.

A lovely old fashioned 50th birthday party for my daughter yummy sandwiches and scrummy cakes and scones a wonderful experience plus old fashioned courteous service from the staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Such a lovely place and the waitress is very kind and helpful. We went for afternoon tea to celebrate my mothers 92nd birthday, it was made very special for her. The tea was superb, lovely savouries and cakes. The scones were heavenly! Thanks for a lovely time.

The choice of teas and coffee are a plenty, also a good variety of sandwiches and other savoury items. Finally a cake stand full of delicious cakes and scones... couldn't manage to eat all in one go so the leftovers were boxed up and brought home.
Staff were very pleasant and we didn't feel rushed.

Very tasty food my husband and I enjoyed for a special anniversary two course afternoon tea was delicious. Mine was vegetarian. We had to take a box home as we couldn't finish it all! Such good value!
The Dining Room is consistently fab. A gorgeous family run little tea room, with high end produce used for their two course afternoon tea and lunches. Set next to 78 Derngate museum, booking is a must. Can't praise this establishment enough and can't wait to visit their sister venue The Barn in Weedon.
Wow! We had the pleasure of attending my friends Baby Shower in a beautiful room at The Dining Room yesterday, the table and room was set out so beautifully, we added a few decorations too, the afternoon tea food was out of this world, and my Vegan food was so delicious! The room did get a little bit stuffy, as the windows can’t be opened due to past security issues, so having the door keep opening was refreshing.
All of the staff were so accommodating and friendly and helpful, all of my friends had a great time.

My first time visiting here for afternoon tea and I was so impressed with the service and food here! There was a lovely selection of drinks and sweet and savoury goodies, and all tasted delicious. Thanks to the amazing staff for also adding a surprise for my birthday and bringing out a cake and candle, was such a lovely gesture. Definitely recommend this place and I can’t wait to visit again! 🥰 x

The Dining Room is the wonderful restaurant inside 78 Derngate.
Serving excellent food and wonderful afternoon tea, book before you turn up so as not to be disappointed.
A tour around number 78 is also recommended, the house designed by Charles Renne Mackintosh for Basset Lowke.
What a gem this place is the food was excellent and the service was great. Atmosphere was perfect. The price was inexpensive and would highly recommend it's well worth a second visit to sample some of the other menu items.
Had a cream tea was amazing, two lovley ladies where attentive and nothing was two much trouble,price was really good for the food and drinks we had,highly recommend we will certainly go again very soon😊

A wonderful afternoon tea, a gift from a good friend. The cheese scones were exceptional and a fabulous selection of cakes. Hannah our waitress didn't rush us, and provided take away boxes for the cakes we couldn't manage. Well worth the stroll out of town (3 minutes)

One of the best afternoon teas I've had. So much food, we came away with a sizeable doggy bag for later! The only afternoon tea I've had (and there have been a few!) which is served in two courses, each filling a three-tier stand. The sandwiches and savouries were delicious (no soggy cucumber sandwiches here) and so generous that by the time the sweet course arrived, all we could manage was a scone! There was an amazing selection here as well, including macaroons and choux buns. Highly recommended - I'm sure we'll be back!
Lovely afternoon tea today. Lots of choice & really fresh sandwiches, cheese scones & mini quiche etc with selections of tea or coffee.
Then when we had eaten our fill from stand Another stand with cakes & sweet scones, meringue etc brought out with more drinks
Hannah made us very welcome & took the time to explain each tier to us & confirmed all freshly made each day

I can not speak highly enough of Rachael and her team. We had take away afternoon tea for a family celebration. It was amazing and made the day very special. They even coped with 2 celiacs and one gluten/dairy intolerant vegetarian. The food was lovely, fresh and good value for money. The staff so friendly, helpful and amazing. Can highly recommend.
