Simply outstanding, both the quality of the food and the superb service from every member of staff, special thanks go to the chef who not only cooked me a gorgeous vegan meal and dessert, but actually gave me a choice of meals. Thank you all for going the extra mile as well and managing to ensure that I had time to eat it before having to dash back to work. First class, can't recommend this place highly enough :)

Beautiful hotel with character and stunning surroundings. We had an overnight stay for our wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fabulous food (cream tea on arrival, three course evening meal and breakfast) that more than catered for my gluten free diet!! Happy and friendly staff who went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Highly recommend!

We had the most beautiful, perfect wedding on Saturday! What an amazing team at Solberge- from start to finish the day was calm and flawless. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Not at one point did myself or Paul feel stressed which was so important to us as we are both generally very laid back and wanted our wedding to be a reflection of this. All day...all night and even now days after; we have been flooded with comments and compliments from our guests about how amazing the day was. So from myself and my new husband Paul we would like to say a huge thank-you to the team with a special mention to Kate, Jordan, Jon and Lucy. Such a beautiful day that we will never ever forget. XxX

We had a great Easter Sunday lunch with a night's stay in a large room with 4-poster bed. The three course lunch with wine was delicious and the hotel had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We will return at some point.

We went just for 1 night to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday, got a great deal through secret escapes that was a bargain. We stayed in room 1 (Hutton) which was spacious and had nice modern touches, and a lovely view of the grounds. The evening meal and breakfast were both superb, we will certainly be back!

Found this lovely place by chance. Came up from Salisbury to celebrate our daughter’s 30th birthday with an afternoon tea. Beautiful surroundings and well worth the visit would definitely return.

Stayed over for a night and was surprised by how quaint and beautiful the building is. Georgian(?) vibe and the double bed was firm. Pretty big toilets! Was served a lovely hot English vege breakfast :) a 10-ish minute cab away from the station

Went there on one of our weekend trips for a couple of nights. Bed and breakfast with evening meals and a cream tea thrown in. This is a really nice place to stay with plenty of space and grounds to walk in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are great with lots of choices. The evening meals are ok with a varied menu to suit most people. Bar prices are what you would expect to pay, which are not too over the top. The room we had was huge and very clean and tidy. It was, however, cold at the time we visited as the central heating wasn't working properly. They did, however, provide an electric heater in the room, which helped take the chill off, and if we needed another, then we only had to ask, and one would be provided. The toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall as it was a suction cup type and not much use, so we left it off, only to come back and find it on again after the room was serviced. It fell off again as soon as you tried to use it. There are plenty of parking spaces. Clean toilets. My only criticisms are that they are very slow to clear the tables, and this makes the place look a bit untidy when you come down for breakfast and dinner. They also put a service charge on the bill when you are about to leave, which is about 20%. which I find really annoying as I usually tip what I feel is right depending upon the service I receive. This charge is discretionary, so it is your choice to pay or change or not to pay. But I personally don't like to see it on there. There are plenty of places to see around the area, and this is a good base to start from. We went to visit Richmond,North Allerton, Thirsk, and my favourite Helmsley, a very pretty market town, which is a must-see place. Overall, it was a very nice couple of days, and we will return in summer.

We went to Solberge Hall Hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary . We had 5 rooms in total and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The welcome and attention to our party was excellent, Connor who looked after us whilst we dined, was really helpful. The food was beautifully cooked and all those in attendance agreed wholeheartedly. Not a scrap of food was left on a plate. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Solberge Hall is a lovely hotel in what appears to be a historical manor. It overlooks farmland with spectacular views. It's a wonderful, peaceful location. Our stay was pleasant and relaxing. The staff were friendly and reasonably attentive. It's good value, but could be nicer if there were a little more attention to details. For example, bathroom grouting was a little mouldy, toilet seat loose. Restaurant staff were not completely knowledgeable about the food and wine they were serving. The wine was very overpriced with regard to the quality and when this was noted, the staff were uninterested. However, the food is really excellent indeed. Overall, I was fairly happy and I would consider staying again. With a little effort and attention to small details this hotel could be very special and worthy of a higher room rate.

Beautiful hotel and such welcoming staff. We had a dog and were given a perfect room with external access straight to the well looked after gardens and woodland walk. Although we didn't sample, the afternoon tea looked amazing, next time...

Very, helpful, friendly staff, great location. The food is very good. Only downside. No local beer!!! Even though you have Theakstones and Black Sheep both 20 minutes away. Will visit again.

Had a beautiful champagne afternoon tea here this afternoon...it was perfect. Beautiful place, the food was absolutely lovely and there was plenty of it, and it was excellent value for money. We travelled from South Yorkshire so it was over an hour's drive, but I'd go back again anytime, it was so worth it.

Slightly run down in decor, Ripped wallpaper and curtains) but this is more than made up for by the staff and the welcome they provide. Food is very good and they recognise that a dog is part of the family and all of them treat it as such. The woods outside provide a convenient and pleasant walking space. Dogs are allowed in all but one location. Great hotel and thoroughly recommended.

We frequently stay at the Solberge when in the area and have our work Christmas parties here. Every visit is wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and the food fantastic, but the stand-out is the staff - this is the best hotel for their staff helpfulness, nothing is too much to ask and their help organising events is brilliant. Every person you meet weather a part time waitress or manager are so happy to help. Thanks to the wonderful team for always being so fab!

Enjoyed a short break here and stayed in a quirky but rather lovely room. Great en-suite and a room vita a lovely view. Food was excellent and all the staff were very friendly. Good parking although at one time it was quite busy with a wedding / reception although it did not have any effect on our stay. Lovely old house and beautiful driveway leading off a local country road. Would like to stay again some time so keeping an eye out for deals!

A very nice place to stay, originally booked for 2 days but as soon as we say such a nice bedroom, I went back to reception to enquire a third day, but was quoted £40 than Secret Escapes. Returned to the bedroom, on the iPad and within a minute booked again. All of the staff are very welcoming, especially the lady who is on reception. The food is fine dining. This is a very goot testament.

I worked at Solberge Hall for the first time last weekend and was blow away by this stunning venue! It has plenty of space for larger weddings and the main room was beautiful. All of the team were very friendly too! 👍🏻
