It was my first visit with my friend and we decided to have fish and chips outside even though it was rather a grey day. Our lunch was an absolute treat despite the weather. We received such friendly helpful service at this immaculate and modern looking Fish & Chip Cafe. The fish was very tasty, beautifully white & cooked to perfection in light crispy batter. Our chips were the best I've eaten and made the whole meal an extraordinary experience. Even our cup of tea was delicious too.
It was such a pleasure to have our lunch at the White Horse Cafe and my friend and I have been talking about it all day. Thankyou very much.. I'm certain this will be the first visit of many.
Absolute amazing. Worth the money and definitely worth the food. if u haven't ever tried it yu have to because its amazing and i would pay all my money if i had it. if this fish and ship shop sees this you keep up the good work your doing amazing x

Had fish+chips for our wedding meal. It was amazing!! Everyone commented saying it was the best fish+chips they have ever had!! They also created us a custom wrapping paper with pictures of us on. Really good little touch!! Incredible, can not recommend enough!!

We usually go to the White Horse in Thirsk, even though it's a 40 minute drive from our house because there's no better fish & chip restaurant locally. On finding out that there was also a branch in Northallerton we decoded to try it out, it being only half the distance away. I'm happy to say that it was every bit as good. Cozy & welcoming, with great service and most importantly fantastic food. The queue stretching down the street for the takeaway should be testament enough to its quality and reputation.
Quality fish and chips to take away. Food is always fresh, huge range of products, and the only chippy in town I’ve found that still does scraps. Haven’t eaten in so can’t comment on that, but take out has always been consistently good both lunch and teatime
Fish and Chips are always beautiful here.
Only down side is the restaurant prices to take out. I do understand adding a bit on for the series and costs of serving in a restaurant but the prices are not comparable considering the food is the same.
Really nice fish and chips. I'm from the seaside so tend to be picky, but been a few times and always good. The cafe upstairs is fairly small but always clean and friendly.

Best fish & chip in Northallerton! Great texture and flavor. The place was renovated not long ago and it has a great cozy atmosphere.
The best fish and chips ever. Unlike a lot of chippies they only have haddock and it's beautiful. The batter is crispy and not greasy. I'm not a potato eater so can't rate the chips but my husband doesn't leave any 😀 Fish and chips used to be a cheap meal but it isn't any more so you want quality and value for money and you get that here. The only thing lacking on the menu is the Holland's Steak and Kidney pudding but that's probably the Mancunian in me that's needing to adapt to Yorkshire ways. 😂
We have been to the restaurant two weeks in a row, having travelled from Wetherby. Both times the fish and chips have been delicious. The staff are also very friendly and parking is so easy. We will be back. Thankyou.
