I have been visiting the shop and cafe since it has opened and I have been very impressed with how it has developed over the years, top quality food and always a great place to take friends who come and visit. The shop is a great place to mull around on a lazy weekend and the staff are all very accommodating and friendly. Keep up the good work.
I have been visiting Newlyns Farm shop since it opened and I am always impressed with the high customer service from the staff who are very knowledgeable about the different products sold in the shop.
The coffee shop offers a varied menu and every time that I have eaten there the food has been of a high standard.
Beautiful food!!
We had breakfast in the café, it was exceptional! The freshly squeezed orange juice was lovely and the full English was just as impressive, even my fussy kids said how nice the food was.
We then went into the shop and bought meat, cakes, some of that lovely orange juice etc. all exceptionally good and the frozen section is genius, with everything from pies to part cooked chips & fruit!! Would highly recommend a visit!!
Attended the Express diner cookery class yesterday with my daughter. We had a great day. Attentive teacher who demonstrated well and had us cooking fabulous dishes in no time and lovely helpers who helped prepare the ingredients and clear up after us. . We all learnt many extra little tips too. The food was all locally produced, much of it on the local farm and very good quality . I would recommend these classes to anyone. Great to give or receive as a present.
If you are looking for a wide variety of excellent quality produce then visit Newlyns Farm Shop. The butchery section is superb and a visual delight with an innovative selection as well as traditional cuts of home-grown meat. The friendly butchers are always happy to advise and help you with your choice. There is also always a huge range of fresh fruit and vegetables whilst the deli section is another feast for your eyes. After you've finished your shopping don't leave before treating yourself to a well deserved coffee and snack in the excellent Cafe.
Have to recommend the Butcher It, Cook It, Eat It! I did the course today and was great. The demonstrations from Jason and Dan were brilliant, so much knowledge! Loved getting stuck in and boning the lamb shoulder and whole chicken! The lunch was also delicious and can't wait to come back for more courses!
Very busy at lunchtime today but the staff warned us of the wait for food and were very attentive.
We stopped off en route for breakfast... service and quality of food could not be bettered.... such a choice too! Had to buy a loaf of bread also delicious!
What an absolute gem of a farm shop and cafe. Swung by for a bite to eat and everything was spot on. Super friendly service, the food was tasty with many ingredients coming from the farm itself, hell even the mayonnaise was next level and all very reasonably priced.
I always try to find some things that can be improved on and this was tough....the onion rings could be served with some paper to soak up some of the excess oil, the flat white coffee was good but not great and maybe an all day breakfast option on the menu would be well received.
Now onto the shop, great offerings from the farm and surrounding area and the cheese room was superb and I very much enjoyed my cheesy chat with the staff, and picked up some excellent food for an upcoming BBQ. The cookery school looked next level good and I will be sure to check out the other shops on site the next time I visit.
Newlyns is a great example of an artisan farm shop, with a large variety of produce on offer, mostly from local farms.
Excellent butchery section with real butchers who offer advice on what meat or cut would best suit your meal, as well as being just very friendly!
They also have a small frozen section with some artisan frozen meals. It's not cheap, but the quality is excellent.
If you're a fan of the Garlic Farm on the isle of Wight, Newlyns stock some of their products (which is brilliant!).
On site they also have a wine store, cookery school and spirits/liqueur shop. I haven't been to the school or spirits shop, but the wine store has a great selection with friendly staff willing to offer guidance to people who know absolutely nothing about wine (me).
The on site restaurant serves an excellent quality breakfast, a wide range of hit drinks and a selection of smoothies & cakes. Pricing is on the more expensive side and this is where I feel its let down slightly. I appreciate the produce is quality, but the pricing could be reduced slightly to make the items more affordable and inspire repeat visits.
Plenty of parking on site available, but it does get very busy. You can walk here from the popular Basingstoke Canal walk, so in summer months plenty of dogs are seen. They are allowed in the outside seating area of the restaurant, but not inside or in the stores.
Lastly, there is also a small play area for kids to keep them entertained whilst you eat.
What a lovely farm shop and cafe.
We stopped off on our way on holiday and ate at the cafe. I had the Gladiator burger, which was the best burger eaten in a long, long time. My wife had the fish finger sandwich.
Excellent!
We also stopped off on the way home. A bit late for the cafe but the shop has a fantastic range of high quality produce. Meats, fish, bread, cheeses, vegetables, fruit, etc.
Oct 2023: We drive 7 miles to get to this place half a dozen times a year for lunch. The food is excellent and the service is always top drawer. The prices are rising - but they are everywhere! Highly recommended for lunch.
Lunch for 2 inc a 10% tip: £30
Had a great lunch at the cafe. My wife went for tomato, pesto and mozzarella panini and I had mushrooms on toast with a side of house coleslaw. All delicious, great quantity size and quality was perfect. Really worth it and now off to the shop to buy cheese (they have a fantastic cheese cool room) and sausages (which are to die for).
Very noisy place. Not enough tablets for taking orders - staff were waiting for each other to place orders so that they could take the tablet, so it caused congestion around the table that was ordering. Slightly chaotic!
Cake was OK, nothing special.
Great breakfast, lovely outside tables. Tasty, fresh, just right. Good, friendly service.
A wonderful farm shop and cafe, such an extensive range and very high quality. Staff top deserve a mention, really went over and above in helping navigate the cafe and baby changing with a newborn
Conveniently located close to the M3 it provided a nice stop off to break up a journey. The prices were quite reasonable, two coffees and a generous slice of toffee and apple cake for less than eight quid. The coffee was really good, 'Moon Roast', and there was table service too.
Slight criticism would be that it was quite cool in the seating area and it was a bit noisy (not much that they could do about that though).
Both of my sons have done cookery courses here. The facilities are great, it is very well organised and they cook a great variety of dishes. The bonus is that they always come home with lots of treats they have cooked for the rest of the family to enjoy!
Nice garden centre and cafe. Good location great picturesque nearby walks
Really lovely food here and very reasonably priced with a wonderful selection of teas and coffees to accompany. The farm shop produce is amazing. Good diversity of gin, vodka and wines to be had in the shop too - Twisted Nose Gin is 👍🏼
I've visited Newlyns Farm Shop and Cafe several times and have always been happy with the food and service.
The shop and cafe are tucked away just off the M3 near Hook; there is plenty of parking, including a few disabled parking bays. It is popular it may be worth planning your visit.
It's the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat or shop for a meal. I've often met friends and colleagues here as it's halfway between our homes, making Newlyns super convenient. I've also stopped with my family to break up a long journey, so the kids can safely stretch their legs outside.
The cafe serves a full breakfast and lunch menu; they cater for children too. My favourite from their breakfast menu is the scrambled egg and salmon on farmhouse toast, served with a fresh cup of coffee. What a great start to the day.
I enjoyed a coronation chicken sandwich and their tasty crab rolls from the lunch menu. To drink, you can't go wrong with a refreshing ginger beer.
A bonus is that the shop is fully stocked with fantastic food; they have a butcher, a cheese room, a deli, a fish room and fresh fruit and veg.
I've always been more than satisfied with Newlyns Farm, and I'm sure you will be too. Well worth a visit.
Very good food. A very popular place. Never knew it was here!
Great place been here several times for a morning drive out and meet up for Breakfast, has got very busy now, and have stopped booking tables in advance, had abit of a wait for Food but it was good as always when arrived, nice Staff and lots of parking.
