Nice relaxed bar. Great selection of beers and bar snacks, wine and spirits also available. Quiet in the afternoon and does get busy in the evenings. Great for a small group - especially if the weather is nice and you can sit outside on benches. Gender neutral toilets x 2. Free sanitary products available and the bar and toilets are always very clean. Inclusive, LGBTQ + friendly.

Situated about five minute from North Shields is Enigma Tap room Its has a modern and contempory design inside (doesn't feel like your usual Micro bar). They have a good selection of alcohol from ales, ciders, larger, wines and spirits and they have a selection if guest ales from local breweries. Whilst they selection I did like, it would be nice if they had a few more. They also have a good selection of cans and they also have doggy treats if you pop in and have a dog. I'll definatly be back here 🍺🍺

This is a great little pub in the centre of North Shields. They provide a wide range of real ales on tap, and also a variety of spirits. I had one of the best sipping vodka’s I think I have ever tried – St Marys Vodka, a local brew. The staff were friendly and obliging. There is a rear area for outdoor drinking or smoking if that is your thing. The toilets are a little pokey, but were clean and well maintained. There are some comfy seats available as well as bench seats and standard bar seats.

If you’re in North Shields the Enigma Tap is a ‘must visit’ destination. Offering a wide range of craft beers and real ales in cask, keg, bottle and can. Plus cider, wines and much more.

Didn't go in for food, so I'm not sure I'd they do food, don't think so. Nice place to relax and have a chat, unlike some pubs that don't know what background music is, it's not loud so you have to shout to hear what's being said,or going home with a headache, and it's not with the drinking.

Over the moon that we have somewhere like this in shields. Will be a huge bonus for the town centre. Nothing pretentious here at all, they've done a lovely job with the refurb (check out the chairs - the metal is recycled from WW2 aeroplanes) and the staff are friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable about the beer without being overbearing. Seems to be attracting a mixed crowd, all sorts and different ages! Doggy friendly too. Nice selection of local gins. Also low alcohol beers and soft drinks, plus teas and coffees so boozing isn't mandatory! (Oh, and the toilets are very fancy - me mam will approve).

Found this little micro pub by chance. Normally not a great fan of any solely real ale places but this one is the exception. Good friendly staff, nice surroundings and a bit of music in the background.

It's a clean, basic place that has different old-fashioned tables and chairs. Made up with real wood tops for tables and the legs built from scaffolding. On some Mondays in the month, musicians get together there for 2-3 hrs after 7.30 for a singaround. Serves the usual alcohol, coffee, tea, and snacks. I don't think they serve food, but you can always ask. Great atmosphere and no complaints about the customer service by one guy behind the counter xx

A wonderful addition to North Shields. A great space serving an excellent choice of keg and cask. Enjoyed the cask Almasty Session IPA and the Anarchy Citra Star. Can't wait for a revisit :-)

Went last night (Monday) and we were regaled by some lovely singing and some delicious beers. A real delight after a long drive from Nottingham. Oh and we met jett the cat and neither he nor our dog fell out

Enigma is our local, great drinks, friendly staff and clientele too. Made some lovely friends and jolly outdoor spaces for when the weather plays ball. Keep your eyes peeled for free cheese too 😀
