Much better than the other chip shop which is waaaaay too greasy. Chips are thick and crispy. I just wish they would stick a load of fish in, in anticipation of people ordering them. Chances are most customers want fish so anticipate this by having at least 3 ready at any one time! Other than th
Pleasant though rather impersonal place. You take a table, work out what you want then order and pay at the hatch quoting your table number. Rather nicely you get tea and bread and butter. Food was nice though my large fish was two smaller fish. The batter wasn't the glutomus-maximus type being nice
Great food - fish and chips some of the best I've had in a long time. Decor and service quite basic but clean and food by far makes up for it. Would definitely return if in the area.
It was the wife's birthday on the 14th Jan and she wanted fish chips and mushy peas for lunch whilst sitting at the coast. We both enjoyed the meal as did the sea birds who ate the leftovers the sea air enhancing the flavour if the fish which was meaty and plentiful.
The newly rennovated shop is great. Looks the business, bright and airy with a nice view onto the quays. Food has always been good. Batter crispy and light and fish tasty too. Chips have minimal of the hated tiny shrivled nonchips and are well cooked.
