Absolutely the best Sunday Lunch going in Newcastle! Every single element cooked to perfection. Staff are friendly & efficient. Love that the menu changes monthly. The soufflé is always delicious. £30 for two courses, the food is very good.

Not our first visit, and definitely not the last. Set menu is brilliant value for a midweek option. We love that the menus change monthly, so we get to try new things every time. Service was excellent. If I could change anything it would be lovely to have lunch on a Saturday.

This is a must-visit restaurant in an unlikely setting at the far end of the North Shields fish quay. Excellent value October menu with 4 courses, and each one (between 4 of us each chose something different) was superb. Service was faultless too, highly recommended!

Lovely Sunday lunch, the belly pork was tender, the crackling just right and the veg was all fresh. The staff were very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Loved the open kitchen, well worth a visit

A great restaurant on the banks of the Tyne. Now this is great dining, just like it used to be. Spacious and warm with comfort in mind. If like me, eating out is rare and memorable, this would be an ideal venue fit for any special occasion. The food was in no way disappointing and although the pictures may make the portions seem like half, we were all full and pleasantly surprised by the taste of each course. Put it this way, we were all too full for dessert. It's North Eastern food with superb views of a superb location. Each time prior to the event and not knowing the restaurant's clients, I thought it might be wild west territory. I was too naive to have doubted it. It is absolutely deserving of repeat visits. It's what hopefully will happen to other restaurants in the region. They may look to 31Quay, and take a few leafs out of 31Quay's book.

We had our wedding reception here with 70 people and it was absolutely incredible. Amazing atmosphere and views. Lewis and Di and their team were fabulous to work with throughout the entire process and the staff were so fun on the day. Really couldn't ask for anything better!

Great setting, stuning views, very clean. Staff friendly. Nice food. No cheese board, only sweet desert hence 3 stars. I would retun but not on a Sunday as i would like to see a different menu. I would recommend.

As a family we don't manage to eat together very much these days. A trip to the North East provided an excuse for a family dinner. Following a quick look at a number of possibilities, chance provided 31 Quayside in North Shields as the venue... Lucky us. North Shields has changed a bit since I lived in Newcastle in the sixties but this restaurant is a stunner. Easy to book, friendly reception, great location, lovely views and ferry and ship activity on the Tyne to remind us of where we were. Capping it all a great menu; in our set menu choices we had Focaccia, Cod Fritters, Ravioli, Courgettes, Brill, Pork, Bream and Pithivier. The desserts were Fondant, Raspberries and Souffle. Everything top quality, good value for money and attentively served in a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Location Fantastic Food Reasonable prices but without doubt the best quality of the restaurant is its staff and their helpful friendly and efficient service - best service we have received in a long time. We definitely intend to return.

Just had another fabulous Sunday dinner at 31 The Quay. We love it here! The food is fabulous and better than any other restaurant at the Coast and probably nicer than Cafe21. Staff are also lovely. It isn’t cheap but you get what you pay for. Not sure why they don’t advertise at all. If you didn’t know where it was located you would never find it as it’s not signposted at all. Shame because it’s such a gem of a restaurant

I warmly recommend 31 The Quay. The food is exceptional: beautifully cooked fish, wonderful fresh produce which tasted like summer on a plate, lovely dessert. Excellent, relaxed service. A stunning riverside location. Thank you.
