Second time been here and second time this has happened. Look at your bill before you leave as an added extra could be on there without you knowing . With my partner scrutinising each thing they can’t get away with it with him.
Both times have been an extra drink . A Diet Coke is £4.50 and for two £9.00 , we only had one on both occasions we visited but were charged for two . They do remove it when challenged and it’s removed immediately but just be aware when visiting .
Other than that the restaurant is first class, food is amazing , service is fast , spotless inside and free parking out the back if you can squeeze your car in. Staff are very attentive and welcoming .
You can choose to have buffet at just under £27 per person or order individually from a separate menu . If you order buffet you can’t take spare dishes away with you which is fair enough .
Very enjoyable night out apart from the added extra at the end . It could have been a human error but to have it done twice in a few months apart seems strange .
Wheelchair access will be awkward so call before you go . Some one tried to get a pram in there but couldn’t and they left without a meal .
We booked on the 17th August for a table of six and when we arrived on the 27th August no reservation was found. Water Margin found us a table and we had a lovely time. The staff were lovely, the lady in charge looked after us, especially my father who is elderly. The service was excellent, even though they were very busy. We had the buffet meal and every single dish was delicious. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for looking after us and for a lovely evening. The restaurant had a nice vibe and fun atmosphere.
We've eaten here many times and the food has always been delicious.
At our most recent visit today, service was excellent, food came out quickly, and tasted hot and fresh. We had a set menu, and the quantity was just right.
It does get very busy so can get a bit crowded at peak times, but that's probably just testament to the quality of the restaurant!
OMG excellent food, great service, extremely cozy atmosphere. We stay at a hotel nearby, but not happy with their limited menu so decided to come try Water-Margin : best choice we have made.
They have set menus for 2+people, plenty choices... Honestly when we got to main menu... We were so full.. Great value for the money and sooo tasty.
We saw many people coming for collection also.
Such a shame we are not from the area as we would have definitely be their regular weekly customers.
So @ £100 for 3 including couple of drinks & tips. Had Emperor meals. Plenty of food fast service and pretty busy on our Thurs evening. Eaten there several times before. Your not hurried- the car park is small if its a packed restaurant you will need to park on the road. They appear to maintain same staff which is also a good sign
So if you want a reliable Chinese, we can recommend this place.
Had another lovely meal last week for my sons birthday.
There were 9 of us and you could not fault the service or quality of the food we were served.
Vegetarian option was really good for my friend especially the sesame toast..
Excellent good value for money lunch time special menu in lovely surroundings with very attentive and helpful staff and would definitely return and recommend.

This restaurant has extremely good quality food and the staff are amazing. I would not use any other Chinese in southampton plain and simple
Our first visit. Amazing ambiance in a full restaurant- so glad we booked!
Every dish was delicious and served by attentive and very friendly staff.
I can't remember when we were last asked if we were ready for the next course or would like it in 5 or 10 minutes!
When we left they made us feel they really would like us to return soon and we would recommend a visit to anyone who enjoys 'a good Chinese' but don't forget to book and be hungry!
Amazing Chinese we haven’t been here for at least 18+ years. The food was top notch, the staff are amazing they are friendly and efficient. There was some great vegetarian options and nothing was any trouble. Really clean and just a great restaurant.

We used to come here quite often, pre-children.
Haven't been here to dine in for some years now, so decided to see if anything has changed.
I can honestly say it hasn't, the place is still immaculate, very tastefully decorated.
The staff are always very pleasant and very attentive, they even remembered us from before which was an amazing touch.
The atmosphere is always great, no matter what time you visit, there is always a buzz in the air.
The food, is exquisite, always perfectly prepared and wonderfully presented. Some of the best Chinese food you will find for some distance I can honestly say.
Well worth a visit if you are after a good meal for a reasonable price in the area.
Stayed at chillworth manor an decided to come here as we wasn't happy with our hotels menu, well worth the money an definitely will come back food was 10/10

Very tasty meal but catered more to the westerners' taste. The crispy beef, tofu with preserved vegetable, pork with yellow bean and beef with black bean were good except for the satay chicken.
Dessert of banana fritter was good too.
Service from the waiters and waitresses were excellent.
