We were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and were using a wedding gift voucher. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. The food was exquisite.. the amouse bouche was a delicious surprise, I ate a fish dish and my husband had fillet steak. Just amazing. We we enjoyed our evening so much, we went home at 10.30 after our meal as we didn't think we could top it. We'll definitely be returning very soon.
Amazing food, fantastic surroundings and great staff. Had our long service lunch here today and it is the best meal I have had in years. I will definitely be back. ��

WI meal out , the whole experience was exceptional, first class service ,everyone enjoyed their three courses , only wished I had taken pictures of them, they were a work of art ,so impressed , best meal by far in Leicestershire , looking forward to going again
We've had this restaurant on our list to go to for a long time and with it being my wife's 40th thought it would be a lovely surprise for her. The service from the staff was lovely, the atmosphere was very calm and ambient and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food too. We hope to be back soon.
We were lucky enough to share our wedding day with the Grey Lady restaurant yesterday. It was exceptional and we can't thank you enough. Everyone(!) raved about the food, the event ran perfectly and we are just in awe that our day could be so perfect.

Wow and wow the food is top quality and service to match.
Had our first visit here Thursday evening and really enjoyed it . The restaurant and gardens are very attractive and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere . 3 of us ate from the taster menu and were very pleased by the food ( and very full after 5 courses ) . Our 4th diner is vegan and was catered for without fuss at short notice . Good service and we look forward to returning in the future .

I have had a difficult few weeks, and last night was a treat night out with ny partner.
Everything was lovely, the atmosphere, the service, and the food.
There were two sittings, but plenty of time on the early sitting to relax and enjoy three courses, we didn't feel rushed at all. We have been several times over the years, and always had a really good experience
Absolutely lovely 3 course Sunday lunch, such high quality and value for money. Staff were very attentive and friendly. When we visit Leicester again from Norwich to see family we’ll definitely be back.

The food at the grey lady was really good, the service friendly and the ambiance was nice. Even though I booked they didn't have our reservation but did their best to squeeze us in which was good as I travelled over 2 hours to get there. The only negative was when sat at our table it smelt of damp and that wasn't ideal.
Its our 10th anniversary, and as usual I'm disorganised. After reading the reviews, we decided to try The Grey Lady on the off chance that we could get a table.
Upon arrival the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were very busy, but said they could try and squeeze us in. We had drinks while we waited, in really pleasant surroundings.
When we had our meal, it was some of the best food we had had in a while. The steak was very tender and the sole was cooked to perfection. We were also glad that we did not have a starter as our desert was amazing.
Can't recommend this place enough. Very accommodating staff, great location and fantastic food!

A lovely place for a Sunday lunch. The food and service was fantastic. One of our party is vegan and they catered for them very well by adapting a couple of the menu items. I would recommend for a special occasion or just as a treat!
1st time been to try the taster menu, we were both so impressed with the service and the food. The taster menu is so good value for money and a great way to try things off their menu. We will definitely be going back...
We went to the Grey Lady for lunch on a Friday. It was a surprise for my father's 60th birthday and we were a large group including a wheelchair user. The staff could not have been more accommodating to our needs (including the fact that the birthday boy and my mother kept switching places around the table). The service was really top class.
So was the food - I'll get the pictures speak for themselves but there aren't many places were you can get three courses with food as good as this and a couple of glasses of wine for £25 per head. Bravo.
Such a good place to go for a meal and a drink the food is so nice and the staff are so good .its one of the best places to go as you feel so safe eating there. With the staff being so good . I'm so looking forward to going for more meals there now .
Lovely well cooked food it was the fine dinning experience. I think our food came to to £ 78 for the two of us. It was expensive but I do say it was worth it I guess. Food really made this restaurant stand out. Lovely grounds too although we were sat inside. We did feel covid safe as the staff wiped down tables n chairs after guests left and the staff wore face shields. However I think the menu on paper made me feel a bit uncomfortable, maybe use a QR code or laminate it to make it easier to clean.

Great night. Super food, great location and at a reasonable price. One star taken off as the service was slow and one of the coffees ordered never arrived at the table.

Simply amazing!
Came here for Saturday Lunch and wasn't disappointed.
Skipped starter and went straight into the main, which I had Beef Tail with Fondant Potatoes and an assortment of vegetables. It truly tasted wonderful, with the Beef done justice by being beautifully cooked, medium rare. The sauce that came with it bought it all together and was exquisite.
Other reviews say about slow service, this is so as the food is cooked to order.
I would recommend booking a table for 12 at lunch as it becomes extremely busy around 12.30.
Dessert we both had the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and toffee sauce, this was the best I've ever had, simply put it was amazing.
Recommend The Grey lady with a fine taste for food.

Gutted you're shutting down, you've been our goto place for every special occasion. Flew in from Mexico after out honeymoon for Christmas Day back in 2004, which we still talk about. Sad day, but we'll enjoy this one last time with you.

Came to this extremely cosy place for a work Christmas meal. Service was excellent with good quality hearty food, portion size was small but would definitely visit again

A great venue, lovely surroundings. The food was amazing as always - compliments to the chef. Unfortunately, the service was not quite as we'd experienced previously - not as attentive and we had to obtain our own sugar for coffees and ask for the bill twice before we received it. It took the edge off a fantastic meal.
