My pregnant wife was craving chicken balls so we thought we’d try a local Chinese. We were originally going to order a delivery but when we phoned we were told that it’s cash only so we got a collection instead. When we got there we found out that it was cash for collection as well. Apparently no card machine. It would’ve been nice if the lady on the phone said that it was cash only for collection also. Unfortunately we didn’t have any cash but the kind staff allowed us to do bank transfer.
They have a Chinese and Thai menu. We ordered from the Chinese menu. As what often happens with takeouts we ordered too much. We got chicken balls, spring rolls (came free), ribs, honey chicken, duck noodles, chicken fried rice with curry sauce and prawn crackers (came free). For Chinese takeaway standards the food was good. I enjoyed ribs and honey chicken the most. Although you could argue the ribs were a little chewy, great flavour though. Chicken balls my wife liked but I thought they were pretty naff! Processed chicken in a ball of batter is not my thing! The chicken fried rice went down well and the curry sauce was tasty. The duck noodles were not bad. With all that food I thought it was reasonably priced. Could’ve served 4 easily.
This is the best Chinese I’ve had in the area. Although I’ve not had many. We’ll maybe dine in next time.
Recently moved into Newtongrange and people had said Tiger In was a lovely restaurant so decided to have a meal for dinner one night.
Restaurant is beautiful and the staff were lovely. We had Mai serve us who was very welcoming and friendly. Gave an amazing service and the food was beautiful and very tasty. Will definitely be back to visit the Tiger In.

I’ve had around 20 take-away’s from here for the family, and every single one has been 5 Star. If you order inside, the restaurant is always clean & presentable, & the staff are friendly & very efficient.
The best way to describe the food is ‘clean’. Never any grease, fat, or residue, and always attention to detail.
Understandably there can be a bit of a wait at the weekends, but it’s worth it in the end.
Definitely recommended!
We had dinner in the restaurant this evening for the first time and I would 100% recommend. The service was 10/10, very attentive, pleasant and couldn't have done more for us. My daughter's loved the food as did I. Tasty and well priced. I will definitely be back, we couldn't help ourselves and ordered a few items off their menu and ended up taking the leftovers home, the lady we had that took our order and brought our food and drinks did make our evening though, she was lovely and made our night - thank you. We will be back.
Lovely dining experience. Super efficient and attentive service. Food was excellent, great options and very reasonable prices....a wee gem of a place.
What a beautiful restaurant, the food was so tasty and by far one of the best Chinese's I've dined in, inside the restaurant is lovely and spacious very modern and well kept and clean perfect for any occasion from a family celebration to a romantic meal, or just a dinner with the kids and husband, whatever the reason you will enjoy your visit,
Mai was a wonderful hostess server ❤️ very cheerful, chatty, and welcoming. We fully enjoyed our dining experience.
Its a nice family setting all memebers welcome.
There is parking in the local area but be mindful for the locals.
There is two small steps up into the restaurant, I would say it is reasonable access into the restaurant even for wheelchairs users ♿️
We will be returning to this restaurant.

The place is beautifully decorated; and immaculate.
Lovely ambience, very calming.
The food is so tasty & such a wide choice to choose from, always a hard decision.
Furthmore it is reasonably priced.
Well worth the journey from Edinburgh
My daughter Sarah introduced me to this place whilst she stayed in Rosewell. She has now moved back to Edinburgh but we still go back frequently.
I have indroced a few friends and alway had amazing feedback.

Tiger inn is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food choice and excellent value I have been to this restaurant several times our server Mai is always very helpful and lovely to speak with and never fail to put a smile on everyone’s faces Thank you Mai for a wonderful night. -Ellie and Rab :)
The food was great.waitress was doing everything herself,she was very pleasant and kept apologising.only thing I can pick up on was we did not get all our meals at the same time us had to wait for rice etc.other than that we will be back
Great meal, great choice of Chinese & Thai, Tom Yam Soup was a favourite. My husband had Salmon which he said was delicious. Kids menu fabulous value for under £7 for main, dessert & drink. Staff very friendly, small little place but well Please note cash only 13/04/23.
