We visited for an engagement party in the garden marquee. It was lovely. The weather obviously helped although it did get a bit chilly later on. The pub itself was packed but it wasn't unpleasant like some places can get when busy. All staff were friendly and even enjoyed a laugh and a joke when we visited the bar for drinks. All in all a very nice experience.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently had the opportunity to visit The Crooked Billet, and I must say that my overall impressions were positive. Here's a breakdown of my experience at this pub:
Atmosphere and Seating: The pub boasts a pleasant ambiance, especially with its good outdoor seating options. The area surrounding the pub is peaceful, creating a relaxed environment for enjoying a drink or a meal. It's an ideal spot if you're looking for a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Staff: The bar staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive atmosphere. They provided attentive service and were knowledgeable about the drink options available. Their warm demeanor contributed to a pleasant experience overall.
Drink Prices: I found the drink prices at The Crooked Billet to be reasonable and in line with my expectations for a pub in the area. It's always reassuring when the prices match the quality and atmosphere of the establishment.
Food: Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to try the food during my visit, but based on my positive experience with the other aspects of the pub, I'm inclined to return and give it a try in the future. I have high hopes that the food will be of the same quality and meet my expectations.
In conclusion, The Crooked Billet is a nice pub located in a peaceful area, offering good outdoor seating and a friendly bar staff. The drink prices are fair, making it a worthwhile visit if you happen to be in the area. While I didn't sample the food on this occasion, I plan to return in the future to give it a try based on the overall positive experience I had. I can confidently say that The Crooked Billet is a good pub that is worth considering for a pleasant outing.
Visited the re-opened Crooked Billet in Newton Longvill yesterday, would recommend for the Indian fusion pizzas - my partner had a keema pizza and it was delicious 🍕 they have a large beer garden too which is a plus!
Visitors to the area last week had a great welcome from the new publicans enjoyed a drink early evening. Returned the next evening to eat but the pub was full as holding a quiz evening so had go elsewhere. We were disappointed but very pleased for the pub as so many are closing. We wish them well in their new venture.
A great pub will be better once the full menu is up and running. The food was lovely that we had. Pizza, chicken goujons, dirty fries, another chicken side (can't recall it's name) all very tasty. No dessert menu yet unfortunately apart from ice cream. Reasonable price. The owner was friendly and chatted with customers. We will return when they're open with a full menu. Awaiting kitchen refurb so limited menu.
Lovely country pub, nice big garden and a decent menu.
Recently re-opened under new management and although I've been in for drinks a few times, I haven't yet had a meal. I did opt for a cheese board on their opening night and it was lovely but could have done with more cheese (to be fair, I'd always want more cheese!!).
A good selection of beers and wines and the staff are all fabulous!
Beautiful family run pub with a really friendly and inviting atmosphere. The food is excellent! I'm definitely coming back a lot!
These guys were so accommodating, I’m on the Keto diet and currently they mainly do pizza on their menu due to staffing constraints however they rustled me up a chicken saag so I could stay within my diet! Really helpful and friendly and my family loved the pizza! Thank you 😊
Beautiful lunch in lovely relaxed country village pub. A station for your four legged friends to have a drink in the beer garden.
Complementary refurbishment to the age and local of the pub, with a fair sized off road parking. Will definitely return!
Really quiet today but generally a nice pub. Good range of draught including some cask options. Outside area wasn't any use today because of the fab British spring but will come back during the summer. Staff were friendly too.
