Dropped into Newton Abbot, as you do and decided to grab some lunch. The Pharmacy Cafe was our choice, and glad we did. Coffee, tea and quiche x2. Excellent value for money, great service and great food. Well worth the visit, for its great interior.

Amazing atmosphere, love the old pharmacy decor with the history! Stopped by for cakes and drinks and it was lovely. There is a vast range of gluten free homemade cakes, which is a rare sight! However, the fruitcake was a bit dense but still tasty nonetheless. If we lived nearby, we would be frequent visitors.

I love the pharmacy cafe. The staff are friendly, cheerful and accommodating. The food is so nice and OMG the cakes!! They are out of this world. Very talented cake makers. Prices are great as well. They also allow dogs which is brilliant for me.

The pharmacy were kind , professional , welcoming and there was a lovely relaxing environment . Everyone seemed very content and the food was absolutely amazing , great tasting and value for money. My family had travelled to see me after the birth of my daughter and we wanted somewhere special to go for our first lunch all together and this was perfect. I will be coming back regularly and have shared my great experience with others . I would not normally think of leaving a review but this experience had to be shared , really great place.

Having walked past the Pharmacy many times, I had a really pleasant opportunity to visit today. Walk in to an aged Pharmacy, carefully and thoughtfully decorated in time appropriate decor, shelves filled with vintage pharmaceutical paraphernalia, and other decorative tea shop items. The welcome from the lady server was really good, despite obviously having to recite the whole list of available cakes to every customer. And what a selection there was. From chocolate, through coffee, walnut, lemon, carrot, Victoria sandwich, something with coconut, courgette and something, rocky road and at least five I can't remember. Double shot of extra strong coffee, hot milk and a slab of frosted walnut cake and I had a wonderful 40 minutes. Dog friendly as a bonus. If you want an unusual venue, with great product and pleasant staff, pay this a visit. I doubt you'll be disappointed

Tea and cheese scones for two… and because it’s hot today two glasses of tap water which were refreshingly cool. Great friendly service, delicious scones and good cuppa. Would definitely recommend even if for the wonderful old pharmacy setting.

This café still has the old style pharmacy fittings it is amazing very clean and tidy. I had a baked potato and filling and an excellent cup of coffee, very friendly service, a good local independent business to support. If I lived in this town I would visit all the time.

Great food with a decent amount of filling, stopped for lunch with 2 colleagues mid week and had a lovely panini, the venue has lovely decor and the service was just right. They don't take reservations but plenty of tables inside to accommodate. P.s your new female member of staff was lovely and her recommendations didn't disappoint

Wow! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! The food is amazing, the service is next to none and if you are coeliac or gluten intolerant, you have got to try their gluten free afternoon tea, all home made and absolutely worth every single penny. The best gluten free, home made scones ever 😋 Very accommodating and up to date on allergies ☕🥪🎂🧁🍰

A lovely place to have a meal with friends or just a coffee and cake or cream tea. Lots of character as a lot of the original fittings from the old pharmacy have been retained. Prices very reasonable and food very good.

The pharmacy cafe for breakfast was very nice and prompt service 😋 first class, coffee ☕️ and cakes 🎂 to die for, clean with a history going back to the 1800 hundreds, the decor saids it all must go to place when visiting Newton Abbot and the staff are very welcoming, will definitely go back without a doubt.

Nice place, still with all the fittings from the olden days of being a pharmacy before medicine came from factories. Nice scone with a twist. So cream cheese or chilli jam first?

We didn't go in, but I can say the building is beautiful (a genuine old pharmacy), the cakes looked great and the prices seem very reasonable .. so we will definitely try this place at some point.

Really lovely atmosphere and very interesting, original decor. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was super (my husband had a full breakfast and I had a bacon sandwich), both with coffee. We'll definitely visit again soon.

Daughters brought afternoon tea for us Saturday. What a wonderful gift. The sandwiches 🥪 were filling and the home made scones and cakes were a delicious. So much we had to bring a doggy box home with us. Thank you all the staff for making it so special. It won't be the last time we visit.
