Used to be a lovely old pub but it's closed now. You can hire out the whole pub for a cost. Such a shame

Absolutely Amazing. Beautiful Relaxing place to stay. Wonderful food. Rooms are Beautifully decorated. The building has a long and Extremely interesting History and the staff are very knowledgeable on the history of the building and surrounding area. The staff are helpful , polite and genuinely interested in you enjoying your stay. The owner is on hand and available. You can enjoy the company of the Locals in the Bar or relax in the quieter Lounge area by one of the toastie warm traditional fires.

Absolutely amazing 👏 We went as a family for a 21st Birthday for family. A Murder Mystery Night was had, a drawing of the Inn. An amazing place for a celebration for family and friends. Old, quirky, everything you need for a great time. Beer on draft, pool table, darts, huge kitchen. Just fantastic. Would highly recommend 👌

Magnificent! The stay we had was in a lovely room (comfortable bed, spacious). The inn is situated in the depths of the countryside next to an historic church. The food was standard pub choices but well cooked. If you like historic, romantic and quiet - it's worth a punt!

The staff were very friendly and the candle lit bar with the log burners made it very cosy. Our bedroom was very large, if a little bit dated and the bed very comfortable, the breakfast was large for a full English (kept us going all day!), and my haddock was very tasty. The price is so reasonable that we will be going back again.

Lovely little Inn/pub with excellent food and a very country location. We had a view of cows in a field which was relaxing to watch. We also walked to the Church and saw a bat. The location is in a good location to visit many locations in the area... it made a great Base for us.

Fantastic place. Only went there for a drink this time after seeing the pub last summer from the outside. Lovely candle lit interior and decor and niknaks hanging up around the pub. The Inn is said to be haunted and is one of the oldest in the South West. Had the bar room to ourselves and sat by the cosy fire and played cards. Even though nobody in the pub it had great atmosphere and a friendly barman. Before leaving we had a look around and the barman let us take some photos of the inside of the pub including the ancient breadoven. Will be returning here very soon. Loved it. Great place to go to on a cold winters night.

A cherished find. I can't recommend this place more highly. We had a hugely delightful lunch here - the food was stunningly good. The welcome and service was great, and it was a sheer pleasure to spend time in such a classically timeless hostellery. We will return!

If the chance beckons then Go Go Go... We were working in the area and happened upon this little place around 2030hrs one Wednesday evening.. It's a lovely little Inn with welcoming staff and very friendly locals, all who have many stories to share. Very cosy setting, open fire and a real warmth feeling to the place. We took a card and will definitely return with the family next time we are in the area and more than likely book a room and stay the night. But be warned, this little Inn really is in the middle of nowhere 😁

Classic country pub just how you would imagine rural Devon pubs should be like. Good beer too. Jan 2020 update. The pub is currently closed, don't know if permanent but phone number no longer current and website out of date

We spent one night at the Inn. If you're looking for the traditional English Inn, this has to be your choice. Everything was perfect: from our room to breakfast. We also had dinner at the Inn: the homemade food was just as good. We'll certainly come back.

A quinstissential Devon pub dating from the 14th century. Excellent food, helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Dogs allowed in the bar area. Definitely a 5* hostelry nestled in a beautiful valley near the Church.

Great Ploughman's! We are here on a weekday lunchtime and classical music is playing which is unusual but I really like it! A nice relaxing atmosphere and good food!

Lovely looking old pub. Stopped for a beer which was served by very friendly bar staff who let us taste the Skinners 'Betty Stogs' before buying. It was excellent.
