Stayed at Shore lodge recently. And it had been wonderful. The new manager was lovely, an asset to the hotel. Food was not being served due to the situation with covid and a change in management. Which was understandable, and explained fully by the manager on site. However still thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would 100% stay here again.

Service second to none! Can't find more attentive staff other than at the Four Seasons Hotel, New York! En route, Jenny kept us informed with our room details so no undue stress was caused. Before arrival, Jenny provided the best place to park for our stay, which is always a panic but especially would have been on Jubilee weekend if wasn't for her. On arrival, Jenny was so welcoming; giving us a tour of our rooms, showing the facilities and bending over backwards to make a last minute room change. Critical knowledge of local board hire and directions around town was spot on. Evening entertainment, no problem for Jenny, she provided the places to avoid, the times to move from pub to bar to club to have the greatest night. Even hosted a night out for us showing the local ways, even getting us a locals discount. It was like having a personal representative for our holiday. Going the extra mile seemed effortless for Jenny, a fallen holiday maker meant she offered to arrange food and keep conversation with our friend that couldn't make it out of the accomodation with us. Accomodation as expected; clean and comfortable, just what you need for a surfing holiday. Negatives, curtains need to be changed for blackout ones. The quality of the bunkbeds needs upgrading. More for safety reasons if adults are to stay on them. Sound proofing would be ideal as we could hear the shared toilet flushing from our room, amoung other noises... Overall, would stay there again. Thanks for a great holiday. Josh and the Essex lads.

Had 2 Bed room, views of the sea. Top floor right next to bathroom. Slept well, Jenny our host was fantastic. Even after we woke her with missing keys at stupid o'clock.

I stayed in this lodge this week and I have to say it was amongst one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. The room was really nice and clean and it was comfortable. The location is five minutes away from everything (cinema, beach, town centre) etc so it was very convenient. The staff were incredible and provide a personalised service to their residents and always say hello, they have a good chat with their residents and their cook is also brilliant and made an amazing chicken goujon meal. Overall, I would happily stay here agai and thank you to the staff for their amazing hospitality. 10/10 for satisfaction. Recommendation for improvement- The TV didn't work and wasn't connected or tuned so this would be good for improvement but everything else was perfect.

We had such a brilliant time here, it's in a prime location and the staff were absolutely fantastic! We didn't want to leave, to the point where we asked for an extra night but they were fully booked up! Also a massive thank you to the manager who made us feel totally welcome and was soo helpful when we needed extra items. Thank you!!

We stay end of July for 4 nights. Myself and partner and two children. First impressions we're great, fun and welcoming. Key lock to get your key's was straightforward.. Had no problem at all. Room wss nice. We had ensuite room. Double bed and bunk beds. There was tea coffee making facilities in the room. TV on the wall. Plenty coat hangers which I Found great. Location of hotel was great. We flew and it was reasonable in a taxi from airport. Its a Very short walk to get into Newquay town. Down I will point out a Very steep hill. Not too bad going down but an absolute killer coming back. So be advised if you struggle walkin or wheelchairs or anything. There is a coastal way but it's much longer. They do do breakfast and in the evening they have a jerk restaurant. We had some nibbles and light bites which we enjoyed. The staff were lovely. And really friendly. Welcoming. I will say they do get busy in the evening when running the restaurant side. But overall we found them very hospitable. They also went above and beyond for me when I accidentally left my grandsons Spiderman and super rare hulkman teddies in the room when we went home. We contacted the hotel who had located the Teddie's. They posted them back to us. Absolutely saving my bacon. So convulsions are I would definitely recommend the shore surf to stay. And would certainly stay again.

We visited the Shore Surf Lodge Newquay for the first time last night and we will definitely be returning. First of all...Thank you to Larry for being an amazing host. From the moment we walked in it was all smiles, laughing and really good banter. Their place is small so book first, the restaurant is simple and very casual with kool reggae beats playing...They have a fantastic range of Caribbean beer rums and of course...the Punch! Ok onto the food....it is WITHOUT QUESTION the BEST Caribbean food in Cornwall. You have to try the Curry Goat with coconut rice and Roti. We also highly recommend the starter “Caribbean Taster box” packed full of flavour, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The portions on these two meals were more than enough... The only thing we can question was that the menus didn’t show any prices.? but this really wasn’t a concern as the food was worth every penny! Overall ShoreSurf Lodge is a fantastic new restaurant for Newquay, it’s the only place where true Caribbean cuisine is cooked. We highly recommend a visit. Thank you to Larry and his buddie Julius ( I think that was his name) for a great time Keisha & Craig from Newquay

I hadn't stayed here when it was Matt's but this place was good in my opinion. I cant really give too high of a score since we went in the off season and they were doing some heavy refurbishment at the time. The owner was chill and friendly. The refurb that was completed was nice. Theres an old board/wetsuit storage room that was avilable but from my understanding theres a plan to tear it down and completely upgrade it. Overall the stay was good.

Great Atmosphere, friendly staff, cheap beds and a cheap bar. Matts Surf Lodge is a truly special place. Whether you come down on your own or with a group, its sociable atmosphere is the perfect place to meet new people or catch up with old friends. Will definately be back.

Very randomly stopped here on the way back to the car from spending a long day at the beach. Doesn't look much but the burgers were excellent, staff were extremely nice and welcoming.
