Went here with my partner for an evening meal. We were greeted as we entered by a smiling waitress whom after asking for our name (as I had reserved a table) she gave us two options a table inside or out on the decking. As it was such a beautiful warm still evening we opted for a table outside. Stunning view of the sunset. We ordered our food from a menu which had good variety and wow when it arrived (which was really quickly) it was beautifully presented and tasted great. Portion sizes were good and prices reasonable for the lovely quality freshly cooked meals. The whole venue is tastefully decorated being light and airy with lovely big doors and window so everyone could enjoy the view. Seating arrangement was thought out as when we went if was busy there but the tables were not crammed in. Definitely recommend this venue to anyone visiting Newquay and I will be returning again very soon
Me & my partner have recently come back from a stay at Tolcarne Beach. I can’t praise the apartments, restaurant or staff enough! We had an amazing waitress on the first night & following day for breakfast (didn’t catch her name unfortunately) she gave fab recommendations on food, drinks & even provided a candle in my eggs the morning of my birthday. The food was delicious! We would definitely love to visit again in the future.

My husband, three children (aged 8, 6 and 3) and I ate at the Colonial this evening. We were greeted by warm, friendly, smiley bar staff. Our children were 'wowed' by the bar man making a cocktail, which was delicious � My husband said that both beers he had were good! We were then shown to our table, which had a perfect view of Tolcarne beach. The restaurant is light, spacious and the decor is really nice. Our waiter, Kyle, was fantastic, so helpful and attentive and the kids loved him! He was very patient with their questions and random conversations � We had questions about the fish dishes, which he asked the chefs....they came out to the restaurant to speak to us and let my husband taste the sauce before he ordered. The food was very well presented and delicious! The fish was well cooked and light. The sauces on each of the adult meals ( cod and monkfish) were delicious. � The portion sizes were perfect. All of the staff were fab, but our waiter (Kyle) and the restaurant manager were particularly helpful and friendly. We would definitely highly recommend Colonial at Tolcarne beach.
This place is really special! It’s well worth the walk down the slope or braving the steps down to Tolcarne Beach. Beautiful decor, great selection of drinks and a great menu to boot!

We have had a lunch and evening meal here now, the cocktails are very good and worth just popping down for a few if you don't want to eat. Both meals were delicious, more formal in the evening but still somewhere you can relax and have a good time - service is good and the venue/ vue amazing. Well worth a visit.
Spent this evening at the colonial tonight for my birthday had a great meal the service was excellent food was praised by everyone that came thanks guys one of the best places to go
It’s gorgeous here, the best views, a great big glass of wine, and a lovely member of staff has brought gorgeous thick blanket because it’s getting a little chilly here on the veranda.
Such a fantastic spot, looking out to the Atlantic. The best place to get away from the bustle of Newquay, wind down eat fabulous food. The fish is always my favourite
