Me & my husband used to come to this pub when we came to Newquay over 30years ago & loved it as it had a beautiful view over the towan beach although coming back now Newquay as changed so much your pub still is how we remember it & is still a great pub helpful friendly staff but meals a bit of the expensive side

Hooray truly dog friendly.... the lady clearing the tables refreshed the bowl of water for my dog Sonny.... he’s a large boy but there was plenty of room for him to stretch out on the floor. I really enjoyed my drink without having to constantly worry if he was in the way. We’re usually crammed in the bar with a limited menu because it’s somehow assumed dog owners don’t eat or the staff can’t walk further than the restaurant into your permitted area with hot food! Well done a really lovely experience.

I had cause to complain (these things happen sometimes) and it was dealt with, to my complete satisfaction, in an appropriate, professional and extremely friendly manner. The food was excellent and we would recommend the fish&chips (best beer batter my sister ever had) and the mussels were very tasty!

The family and I went to The Fort Inn for a dual birthday dinner. We went at about 4pm. It wasn't too busy. The service was excellent. The food was lovely, and the views were outstanding. We had Hunter's Chicken, Katsu Burger, Scampi, and Fish and Chips. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back.

Only had drinks here but the views from the terrace are stunning over looking Newquay harbour and the beaches. A great place to while away a couple of hours in the sun.

Just AMAZING!! Not talking only about that amazing view, but the atmosphere is amazing, the staff super kind and friendly, the food was delicious (fish and chips) value for the money. And they have a playground what I think is really nice for the parents enjoy and the kids can be playing.

A must visit if you’re looking for somewhere with great food and amazing views when visiting Newquay. It’s very popular, so gets busy and there can be a wait at the bar, but that’s to be expected. They do allow you to reserve tables in advance, but we took a chance and found a table outside right overlooking the harbour and beach. During our visit their fire alarm went off, just after our food had arrived. We weren’t allowed to take our food with us and, as you can imagine, we returned to absolute carnage caused by the seagulls and not one scrap of food left on our plates. The staff replaced all of this for this though and we went on to order dessert and more drinks.

We stopped at The Fort Inn for a drink while walking around Newquay. The pub was busy but still got served quickly. We sat outside overlooking the harbour and the beach. This is a beautiful spot on a nice sunny day. Plenty of tables and chairs with a good view out to the beach and harbour.

Food was excellent, huge portions, tasty and served in good time We visit the Fort every year and it's definitely improved from previous years. I still think the bar layout could be better, always queues of people not knowing who is next to be served, you don't queue long as the staff are efficient but I think it wouldn't be difficult to have a better set up. We will be visiting again during our stay in Newquay, the lasagne was delicious and more importantly they have a great selection of beers.

We came here whilst looking for somewhere with seaviews to have a late lunch. There are loads of seating with some of the seats outside having lovely views over the bay! The menu is vast with something for everyone, especially vegetarian and vegans. Had a veggie pie, which was delicious, and portion sizes were good! Service was really quick, especially considering how busy it was!

Lovely location, we sat outside and looked over the harbour. Service was on the slow side and tables didn't get cleared for ages. But overall it was a good experience and I'd definitely go again.

Spacious and welcoming, the Fort Inn has ample seating both inside and out on the large, two tiered terrace with amazing views of the Cornish coast east of Newquay. The food is, we were told excellent and fairly priced. Dog friendly, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a pint of Rattler after a day on Towan beach.

Love coming here when visiting Newquay. it's a great location with a great view. They have a soft play for children, which is a bonus and is free. It's dog friendly, staff are friendly and helpful and they have updated the place which is nice to see. The food is good there, but the menu is restricting. They have reduced the menu over the years, probably cause its a busy pub, but the menu lacks a little. This being said, it won't stop me from going in the future

Found our new favourite place to eat in Cornwall! Staff are so efficient and the food comes out so quickly. They’re accommodating to dogs and it’s very spacious! Came here to eat 3 times throughout the week that we stayed in Cornwall and each different meal we tried was incredible!

Beautiful food, passive aggressive staff. The cheesy chips are gorgeous with a tasty lasagne. The ploughman’s is also a good shout. Staff appear stressed and morale seems low.

Went for Sunday dinner a few weeks ago. I had pork and my husband roast beef. Both enjoyed it, big plate of food for about £15 each. Help yourself to vegetables and roast potatoes. The only issue I had was that the food wasn't very hot and sitting outside it was cold quickly. Lovely surroundings, plenty of seating and fantastic views. Definitely worth going.

The service was amazing, the food came quite quickly and was really nice and presented beautifully. The place itself is clean and just set out so brilliantly. Will definitely be back while we are still in Newquay. Dog and family friendly which is an added bonus for all.

The Fort Inn possesses a garden area that affords spectacular views across the bay towards Newquay. It is a good place for families with a traditional pub menu. The beer is St Austell as one might expect in Cornwall along with a couple of unmemorable local keg beers. They were from Harbour and Bath breweries during my visit. The service, while not unfriendly, is impersonal and ponderous. I have been in much busier public houses and received a better welcome. Go for the view...but be carful of the seagulls!!
