visited this week. sat in the sun over looking the beautiful estuary and beach. we ordered brie and grape sandwich and the bread was amazing, also crab salad which was the biggest amount of crab I have ever been served and all white meat. The food arrived quickly and the staff where all very polite. An added bonus was the new larger parking area. A real hidden gem.
I stumbled upon this hidden gem today......WOW! Views to die for, gorgeous coffee and friendly welcoming staff. Try it, I guarantee you'll be back
Best views in the country (not even joking, if you have a sunny day you won’t get any better) and fantastic food and drink! If your in Newquay it’s a must to visit!!!!
The Fern Pit is all about how you get there and the views. Take the boat across the estuary and walk up the hill to the cafe at the top. The views are stunning. We had a salad and a sandwich and both were good and tasty. Recommend going even if for a coffee and an amazing scene.
The cafe is situated on the cliff side overlooking Crantock beach it can be accessed from the beach via a slightly wobbly footbridge and numerous steps the views are spectacular, you can also enter from roadside entrance. There are numerous tables tucked in shady spots around the lovely garden also inside if the weather is not great, the staff are friendly and efficient and the food is excellent
Spectacular views. Sun trap tables and parasols. Food top quality .. well worth a visit .. steps down to the river gannel...
What a beautiful place this is. Great food, happy staff and a glorious view
Cinnamon eggy bread breakfast was beautiful. The view, wow and staff are really friendly!
Lovely place and delicious cake, very friendly! We visited it yesterday with our group.
Fantastic location with a view so tranquil just the place to be for breakfast or any other meal time!
Very friendly staff and they ensured that we didn't wait to long for the meal and of course it tasted superb Looking forward to going again!!! This cafe is also pet friendly as long as they stay on a lead. Happy Days
Recommended to visit the cafe and we weren’t disappointed. The views from the outside terrace are stunning. The food was lovely, we had the tuna mayo and chicken & bacon sandwiches with side salad and crisps. Very tasty. We will definitely be back.
I visit this café periodically. This is a great café bar with lovely fresh food. Seating inside & out. As photos show. Fablas views of Crantock Bay & River Gannel Estuary. Worth a visit up from the beach via crossing the little bridge or if tide is in , the little ferry.
The best ever crab sandwiches. Served with a smile and a fantastic view of the beach. The stuff that dreams are made of!
This is a must place to visit for fantastic photo's of the river and beach. Also the food and drink is good
Excellence sandwiches, drinks, and views. The have gluten free bread for GF sandwiches!
Great crab sandwiches, lovely views over Crantock beach.
What a gem, tucked away overlooking Crantock beach at Pentire. Great breakfast with a view. Highly recommend.
Visited several times, they do a really nice breakfast, with little waiting and a friendly smile. The toast is done perfectly. Plenty of seating inside or outside and the views are great.
View. Parking. Cake. Outdoor seating. Location. All these things were great.
Seagulls an issue for some!! Surprised that the bridge and boat have such a short season.
This place is lovely. Staff are super nice, food is brilliant and seating is relaxing, spacious and cozy (especially outside on a hot day). This place is perfect for a coffee, lunch and a quick stop. It also leads straight down to Crantock, which means on a low tide it is accessible to and from the beach. It has some awesome views also. Great place to go.
Great coffee amazing view ;)
I came here for the first time today and can't wait to come back! My crab sandwich was delicious as was the carrot cake! The service was very friendly and efficient, outdoor seating was so relaxing I could have stayed all day. I highly recommend Fern Pit Café. Toilets are also on site, as is a small car park.
We only discovered Fern Pit Cafe on this visit, can't believe we've never been before. Friendly service and delicious food, all very COVID secure, have been twice now and will definitely be back. And .. the views are stunning
Stumbled across this cafe during last week, because the one were headed to was closed. From the front outside it does not look very inviting, but once round the back they have some lovely outside seating areas, where the views are stunning and the weather was nice enough for us to sit outside. The sandwiches and drinks we had were really fresh and tasty and the staff very pleasant. Unfortunately we were only in the area for a short stay so were unable to return but would thoroughly recommend a visit here.
Very fresh crab salads, great sandwiches and ice-creams with a great view.
