Friendly staff Kelly and Elaine are wonderful. Food always good and hot we eat here regularly. Bit disappointed in our last two visits, we usually arrive before 7:00pm the beef lasagna, fish and chips, pie were not available. These are most demanding food and hope the restaurant can keep up the stock and some items can be put back like the King Prawn/scallop starter, seafood pasta, beef Wellington on the menu.
Nice pub grub in a pleasant country inn. A star knocked off because of the limited range of options, food was slow to arrive and it was burning hot when it did arrive.
Service was great; friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Decor inside was very nice- rustic and homely. Food was very tasty, slightly pricey for some dishes but good portion sizes. Restaurant wasn’t too busy or too quiet - atmosphere was very nice. We had a great time!
We had an excellent fine dining in very beautiful and friendly place. We got here almost by case from our trip from the coast to the Midlands and we were really pleased with the food and service. I had the Seared fillets of seabass and my wife the Beef and Chianti Casserole, two well presented and delicious dishes. I surely recommend and I hope I can come back soon.
Had a lovely anniversary meal to celebrate 10 years married and Kelly was really attentive. I had a small issue with my steak and she was quick to fix the issue and myself and husband still had an amazing dining experience.
I’d like to add that I can tell Kelly really enjoys and is passionate about her job.

Very friendly staff, but waiter very slow to actually input the order into the hand held tablet and he had to keep asking several times what everyone wanted, to the point that it became almost embarrassing to repeat. A few things on the menu you would assume to be freezer/stock items were unavailable, like fish and chips for example, but everyone enjoyed the food they ordered, it was all cooked well and served in a timely manner. A nice addition to the vegetarian choices, would be something like Impossible burger brand, all vegetarian choices are obvious vegetable alternatives rather than meat lookalike. Over all, these were minor criticisms that could easily be changed and we would definitely visit again.
They fitted us in at short notice for a birthday celebration. The staff were attentive and the atmosphere great. Unbeknownst to us we'd landed there on a night where every main course was 20,% off so bargains all round. Not 5 stars at the linguine myself and partner had looked like it had been plonked on the plate and it wasn't that tasty either. A bit disappointing when the rest of the food and the started were so delicious. Would return though because overall a great experience
I had a meal here last night having booked a hotel nearby. When i called in to ask about a table it was clear they were very busy big they managed to make a table available when we wanted it. And i am so glad they did, the food was excellent, staff fabulous, their attention to detail over allergies was second to none. A truly lovely evening and i wouldn’t hesitate going back. Thank you
After a long flight overnight and then a 2+ hour drive, I just wanted a quick meal before sleeping. I went to The Dragonfly because it was next door to my hotel. I got far more than expected. The atmosphere was great and the place was very busy. All I ordered was the chicken burger, but it was by far the best I've ever eaten. Coming from the US, where the chicken sandwich wars are currently being waged by the competing national chains, all I can say is that after one bit of any one those, followed by one bite of what I had at The Dragonfly, would cause anyone to throw the other sandwich in the trash bin. It was perfectly cooked and the sauces tomato, onions, etc. Just made it better. Just a simple sandwich. I can't help but wonder just how good the rest of the menu is. Maybe I will find out if I pass by again. And the service from Kelly was excellent, especially ially considering how busy she was.
Lovely lunch with my wife, Beautiful succulent Steak 🥩 and red wine 🍷 pie, roasted carrots 🥕 were fabulous, and broccoli 🥦 perfectly steamed. This was just how wonderful pub meals were many years ago 😁. I was on crutches following an operation and so the level entry from car 'til seat was appreciated 👍.
Six of us had a very enjoyable meal here. I can definitely recommend the beef and red wine pie. We were all full after our main courses, so we didn't manage desserts.
Wow! This is such a great restaurant, mainly because of the good food and it’s high quality. But also the decoration and atmosphere makes it very comfortable and perfekt for dinners with friends or an romantic date. It’s also nice to have just drinks on the bar. The interior and the light makes it a place where you want to stay. The staff is very polite and friendly! The food comes in the perfect timing also if you order a Menue. I definitely want to recommend this special place to others. I went here already several times because I like it so much.
Been before and decided to go for Sunday lunch with the family, we were the last sitting at 4pm , and could see that the staff were under pressure and under staffed ( they all were very friendly as usual and could nt do enough but when you are spread so thinly there is only so much you can do) Food was piping hot as always but sadly had ran out of what we actually ordered. Abby was very professional and understanding with us and offered us free desert or extra drinks. I would not hesitate to go here again for food though I may go an hour earlier and not be the last covers on a Sunday ! well worth a look , as food is generally great and so is the service.
Excellence in food which has spanned over a decade. We first came here I. 2013 on the way to the Glastonbury Festival and this year we passed by and decided to revisit. If anything the food has just gotten better. Would certainly recommend
The Dragonfly is amazing because the staff are friendly and they have the food and drinks that you may want to eat and drink and it has lovely atmosphere and if you like chocolate I would recommend the honey pot because it was lovely and what I wanted
Our first time here, but pretty much know what you're going to get with a vintage inn. Food was pretty good, service too. Can't say fairer than 4 stars. Would definitely come again
