A warmer welcome you could not wish for. Alex was amazing, catering to all aspects of our stay. We booked dinner for four people originally, and it ended up being twelve. No fuss or bother, just more tablets added! The food is lovely, and breakfast was gorgeous. Well done, everyone. What a great place to stay.
A group of us (10 ladies) had our usual annual weekend away. This year it was Chester. On the way back we stopped to eat. Beautiful surroundings both externally and internally. Top drawer service and food. The young man who served us took our banter very well and went along with it in good spirit. Would highly recommend and definitely go out of my way to visit again. What a beautiful hidden gem, from the minute we arrived the service has been fantastic, Alex one of the managers is the nicest guy, and even the regulars made us feel welcomed. The food was hot, and fresh. My partner chose not to have a pudding, but ended up stealing mine as it was so nice (caramel waffle). The room we stayed in "penny pincher" was beautiful, very clean and comfortable, can't fault anything about our stay. The inside of the pub is stunning with loads of character, dog friendly and kid friendly too, we plan on coming back to try the Sunday lunch soon and to sample a music night. Thank you Steve and Sian
An absolutely gorgeous old building full of character. The room was idyllic with a lovely four poster bed and a luxuriously thick carpet.The food was very nice especially the dessert and was great value for money.The staff were very polite and friendly would definitely recommend and will definitely return soon. Thanks for a great stay.
Came with friends and our dogs Thursday lunch time. Wonderful food and service. Made to feel very welcome, even cooked sausages for our dogs . Food was hot, presented well and staff were professional and friendly. After looking at recent reviews have to add we had no problems ordering diet drinks either. Will certainly return want to try the monthly dog breakfast as well as come again for lunch .
The management, staff (& friendly regulars!) looked after our party of four golfers admirably. Splendid spacious quirky rooms, excellent food and a great choice of ales from Joule’s local brewery. Recommended!
Spot on for a laid back pub lunch/dinner. Reasonably priced, great no nonsense food and the pint of Green Monkey was stunning especially in the heat we’re currently experiencing! Will be returning on a Sunday with the lads on our motorbikes soon!! Dogs welcome too if you can’t leave at home! Cheers folks!

We did a balloon display here for a 21st birthday and the staff were all super helpful and friendly. The food looked amazing will be popping back to try.
After a wet afternoon walking my partner and I stopped by just for a drink, it was such a lovely place then we then stayed for food. I couldn’t fault the drink, food or service

Sunday brisket beef was melt in your mouth and I tried the daughter's mushroom bacon pasta which was a big portion and delicious also,waiting staff were smiling and attentive 10/10 😎
