I've been to McCanns a few times and decided to go try their new Pizzeria last night. The pizza is amazing, properly made from scratch and it wasn't even a long wait! The staff are really friendly and welcoming, and the chef was really accomodating and said we didn't have to order off their list we could have virtually any pizza we liked (although he didn't recommend a brocoli pizza). The price is really good too. We took our pizzas into the bar to eat so we could get a drink and listen to music, and the chef came in to check we were enjoying our food. Planning on going back this weekend, we expect we'll have to wait a little longer on a busy saturday night but it will definitely be worth the wait!
epic venue! me and the boys played here last night and loved every minute of it...awesome staff great atmosphere and cheap drinks what more could you ask for! we will be playing here again and if you havent had the privelage of a night out at McCanns i suggest you make a point of going
AWESOME live music venue....if you like your music heavy and loud....this is the place for you. Fantastic friendly landlady and staff.....phenomenal atmosphere!

Fantastic venue. Great music and atmosphere. Not full of kids like the rest of pubs in City Centre. Well worth a look

If you are missing The Hornblower then this is the place for you. Not quite the same but a great place to relax and soak up the atmosphere of Newport.

I love this place and always go here for a few when I visit Newport, really nice staff and friendly interesting customers. And a wide range and variety of drinks.
I do miss the benches and dark lighting the used to be in the back near the pool table though, but anyway still a great bar and don't hesitate to visit if you want to have an enjoyable time!
Such an awesome place. Lovely people both as customers and bar staff. I've had amazing nights there. Great bands and great atmosphere. Also they have a great range of alcohol and beers 😎
I don't get to Newport often but whenever I do this is a must visit for me. Great rock music, decenty priced pints, good range of beers/ciders on tap, sick outdoor seating area. Love it

Sam, the barman and another female bartender. Both helped to make our visit a fabulous experience. I have never been into this place before, but we went to watch the rugby. It wasn't rammed and it was easy to go to the bar and the toilets without fighting through crowds of people.
