We love everything about Morawelon campsite. The family who own it take great care of the place and it all works very well. The availability of electricity and water is just ideal for our motorhome. The adjacent cafe - owned also by the Watts family is excellent with a wide range of food, drinks and ice creams.

Stayed here at the beginning of August for a week and wished we could have stayed longer! Lovely campsite - not too big. Clean facilities - only 2 showers/3 loos in both mens and ladies but only needed to queue for the shower once - 50p for 6.5 minutes and lovely and warm. Good washing up facilities. There are a few kayaks that are available to borrow for a charitable donation. The campsite is family run - and they are always around in the daytime to help/answer queries and even run the restaurant between 10 and 4.30 everyday - which will do delicious takeout coffee in your own mug if you ask! Hope to see you again soon and thank you Nicky, Richard and Christine.

Another group booking by us this year, as usual everything was great apart from the weather on the first night, but who can control that eh??

Great campsite as close to the beach as it gets. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the site is super for dogs too. All in all....PERFECT.

Stopped here for some fish & chips. The service food quality and portion sizes were great! We ordered two fish & chips, portion of onion rings (box of about 20), mushy peas and two tartar sauces & large teas - £36. Very large lightly battered cod, enough thick chips weren’t greasy at all, probably too many onion rings and thick home made tartar sauce. Large portion of mushy peas. One portion of Onion rings and mushy peas enough for two people to share both. Definitely recommend 😊

Great location right on the water in Parrog where you can walk along the low tide coastal walk either before or after you eat. We shared a fish and chips. Cod was excellent, batter was light and crispy. Chips were good. Friendly staff. Casual, clean, dog-friendly. Outdoor seating as well.

This establishment was reccomended to my wife and I whilst walking around Dinas headland by someone we met on the walk. Having sampled a local chip shop a several days earlier which I can only describe the food as appalling we felt it was worth a try. We were not disappointed. We can honestly say that they were the best fish and chips we have ever eaten. The chips were crisp, perfectly cooked and not at all greasy. The fish was served with a crispy batter and again not at all greasy. We took them back to Cwm-yr-eglwys to eat and they were still piping hot when we arrived at the cottage and a single portion was more than ample for the two of us to share.

Great location, on Y Parrog. Very nice fish and chips. Ice cream from machine was very bland though.

The best Cod & Chips for a very long time, and you can have a reasonably priced pint with it, great views of Newport Bay 🤙🤙

The wife (no comments please !!) and I took her parents and brother for lunch whilst they were visiting. Both parents are wheelchair users so accessibility is key. On booking we made Morawelon aware of this and were told it was not a problem. On arrival we had direct access to our table and had lots of room for the two wheelchairs. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. The meu whilst not the biggest did give us a decent selection and everyone enjoyed their food. In addition they were also able to cater for special dietary needs which was superb. It was also really good to see accessible toilets. All in all we had a really nice lunch which our parents really enjoyed so thank you.

We enjoyed fish and chips here twice whilst staying in the area. We were all agreed that it was by far, the nicest fish and chips we'd ever had. Both the chips, and the fish were to die for. Can't fault at all. Even the cider was delicious!! Only fault is that we're not local to enjoy it again!!

Headed in from the pouring rain for a tea and a pasty which was delicious. Owners were lovely too and gave us some local tips. Was also the only place for a brew around Newport open past 3pm - big win!
