We went here yesterday with our 5 and 7 year olds. They did the kids half sized pizzas for half the price of a full one, which were more than enough for each of them. My partner had a full sized fish pizza, which was amazing, and I had the chicken tikka breast salad. Everything was freshly made to order and was absolutely delicious. There aren't many places where someone on slimming world ends up leaving as satisfied and as full as the pizza eaters in their party but this place managed it! Service was quick and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend The Canteen and can't wait to visit again.
Came to the canteen while on a family holiday in wales and had one of the tastiest pizzas for my lunch. Staff were friendly and helpful. I will be back. I only wish it was closer to home. I can not rate this place highly enough. Well worth a visit.
Went to visit my little cousin who runs the place with his partner and to say we were blown away is an understatement. The staff were fantastic, price was very reasonable and the food was out of this world. Definitely need the base sauce recipe from you for homemade pizzas! Great menu with fantastic specials on offer. Thanks again guys. We WILL be back, all the way from Scotland!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Lots of choices on the menu to please everyone and a good selection of beer. And if you're not sure what to get, they have awesome daily specials to choose from. Food made fresh to order with fresh ingredients - even gluten free choices available. I definitely recommend stopping by The Canteen for brunch, lunch or dinner, or carry out. You won't be disappointed! It's delish! :D
Amazing burgers, fabulous pizzas and sweet potato fries to die for. The staff are really friendly and it’s a welcoming atmosphere for our children and dog!

Really enjoyed this restaurant - relaxed, friendly atmosphere, decent prices and lovely dough balls and pizza. Book ahead as seemed busy but nice busy. Really friendly staff. We'll behaved dogs welcome.

My partner is coeliac and we're always cautious about eating out , have no fears here gluten free pizza base's are available allowing her to eat any pizza not just restricted menu .. booking is advised

Cracking pizzas, great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service. A perfect place for an early evening meal. The staff were operating at high levels of activity but still managed to provide what seemed to be a popular takeaway service through a hatch.
It's super accommodating, considering we didn't reserve our first visit. The pizza, service and value for money were so good we reserved later in the week for a larger group and The Canteen/staff didn't disappoint, it's a no-brainer we'll be back next year while visiting the local area on holiday.
We were just passing and decided to eat here as it looked reasonable cost. As no internet signal, we didn’t know this restaurant has such great reviews. So we were very happy to discover such a great place. The vegetarian pizza and coleslaw we shared was perfect, really lovely. The staff were also very friendly. It was obvious this was a very popular place as they were getting a lot of phone orders. Definitely recommend this place.
The staff dealt with my food allergy painstakingly and effectively. The pizzas were fantastic- great authentically Italian bases and imaginative toppings using local ingredients. Food and drink very reasonably priced. The staff work really hard and service is quick and friendly.

The food is exceptional.( We had the chicken caesar salad, followed by a great almond pudding. )What makes this place so nice is the friendly ,welcoming staff. We only started using it after one of the team ( unprompted) offered our dog a treat when we were passing. Relaxed, good food and dog friendly. A gem.
We didn't book a table but we were able to get seated inside although we were told the table was booked for a bit later. We had plenty of time to order pizzas and drinks and delicious affogato without feeling pressured to eat and vacate our seats quickly. The pizzas are delicious, all made to order and you can see them being baked from your table. The staff are friendly and accommodating, I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you fancy a pizza whilst in Newport!

Had a really decent pair of pizzas from here. Took them away, picking them up from the window at exactly the time they said they’d be ready. The toppings were put on generously, were fresh and mostly tasty.
Their vegan cheese wasn’t substantive, becoming an almost liquid on top of the pizza. It wasn’t cloying like some vegan cheeses but it was insipid and not quite solid enough. Not off putting, but notable.
My partner loved their vegetarian pizza with dairy cheese, no notes.
We also had a side of chips which were great.
