Came today with my dad and loved it. Never been before and We both had the seafood platter and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely be back. Can I also point out a little review on something else that really impressed me - the toilet!!! Now that may sound stupid because why would any one review the ladies toilet but let me explain why! Most toilets have dispensing systems for things us women need but I was impressed by the fact this toilet didn't! And why? Because they had it all free to use! In the cubicle there was a neat supply of feminine hygiene products including deodorant and wet wipes free for the customers who require it and what's more, along with the changing mat by the sinks, a supply of nappies, wipes and nappy bags. I just thought this was a fabulous touch by the restaurant to go above and beyond customer service xx excellent service xx
I have been to The View on numerous occasions over the past few years and it has never failed to impress. Attention to detail is second to none. The food is always so well presented and tastes wonderful.
Just had the most lovely lunch at The View and will definitely be returning! A smart and welcoming restaurant, without being poncy or too fancy, with stunning views over the Tay. We booked, but actually it wasn't too busy. We ate from the main menu, but there was a lighter sandwich/soup menu available too. Good choice of dishes, and the food itself as gorgeous. portion sizes were perfect - we weren't left feeling stuffed, but nicely satisfied! The flavours and presentation of the dishes were perfect - really crispy haggis fritters with a delicious thyme and redcurrant sauce, rich, moist and tasty chicken breast with peppercorn jus, and amazing dauphinois potato and stunning crispy courgette fritters, followed by coffee and tiramisu ice cream cake.
Staff were friendly and efficient, but not intrusive, making the experience very pleasant indeed. One review I read was critical of the background music volume, but personally I thought it was just right - really was kept in the background.
Overall, we had a lovely time!
Visited here without booking - we were lucky to get a seat. Beautiful views and attentive staff. The highlight for us was their delicious food and the range in offer for coeliacs. There was choices in the kids menu, my son usually has to choose from main menu or has one choice. We will definitely be back. Thank you
Had lunch here with Maryjane absolutely marvellous meal complimented by excellent service and speedy delivery will definitely be back again. Highly recommended we had entirely different three course lunches and all six dishes were top drawer
Lovely food and service. Great atmosphere and view of course. Would highly recommend for a relaxing lunch.
Celebrated my 60th birthday here and had the most amazing time.
The food was delicious and well presented,of a high quality, cooked to perfection.
The staff were excellent, attentive without being intrusive .
Beautiful setting.
It was a perfect evening. Stephen and Karen should be very proud of their staff and themselves for offering such a high standard restaurant .Thank you.
Excellent Food and service.,,,, Great Views. Would recommend to others and return.
I bought an Itison Voucher to give The View a try , we were delighted with our meal . Our starters very tasty, my husband hand the fillet steak (not included in deal but we paid a supplement) I had the sea bass , full of delicious flavours and good sized portions. We managed to have a dessert as well berry cheesecake & sticky toffee pudding with ginger ice-cream, VERY nice !! We scoffed the lot!! Thank you for a lovely meal , we'll back along with friends .
fantastic meal, lovely view and very welcoming staff. A big thumbs up to you guys
Visited the restaurant with hubby and great pals last night. Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere and great service! We will be back x
from start to finish excellent . service ,food and the view would highly recommend a visit
Was there last night, had a lovely night a very warm welcome from lovely staff, with great service and lovely food, thank you we will be back x
Good selection of menu choices, yummy food and great service :)
Lovely staff, good helpings of delicious, hearty food and reasonable prices. Nice decor inside, beautiful views of the railway bridge and Dundee across the river, and the bathrooms were clean and new. They allowed us to sit out in a cabin out the back, as we had a dog with us, and it was snug and comfy as it has its own heater. There are also outside tables. I would go again!
Wonderful gem! We popped in for coffee/cake but decided to have breakfast/brunch instead. Great service, friendly staff and fabulous food.
5 miles out on my Fife Coastal path hike with 2 dogs in tow, thinking to myself, as I arrived at the foot of the Tay train bridge, I really fancy a coffee! The View Restaurant was nearby so we took a small detour. What a gem of a place with caring staff who take the time to say hello, a fabulous menu (I really wasn't expecting that) a talented chef and the result is one (no sorry 3, the dogs got sausages each) very satisfied customers. If you are ever in the area it is definitely worth making time for a full dining experience here.
Excellent food friendly atmosphere and fab view. Very highly recommended. Thank you for a lovely evening
Took friends for their first visit and they loved it as much as we do . Such a lovely restaurant and food is fantastic. Definitely be back
Not called the View for nothing. The view is of the river Tay estuary and rail bridge. The food is superb as is the hospitality and service. The desert I had was apple and plum with ice cream beautifully served. A fine finish to a perfect meal.
Excellent food very tasty and locally sourced. Tasty Angus beef with a lovely gravy, crisped new potatoes and tasty vegetables. Lemon merguine roulade with local raspberry. Definitely worth a visit and service by Jasmin was very good.
I've not been here for a while. Used to visit quite often. Looks nice, the food was well presented and tasty, and the service was good too. My only negative point would be the price. In my personal opinion, I think the increases since my last visit were a bit steep for lunch. Three open sandwiches, one small soup, one tea, and one coffee. No other drinks. The bill came to £56...
We were at a private function. The food, staff and service were second to none ( they weren't expecting as many guests, but they rose to the occasion) The views are wonderful. A perfect venue.
This restraunt would be a great place to visit for the view alone, but the great food and excellent service make it a must if you are in the area. Sunday to Thursday there is a set menu with two courses for £24 which is good value in light of the quality of the locally sourced food. The service was also fantastic; the waitresses were lovely. We'll be back.
Beautiful meal in understated surroundings. Unintrusive and very professional staff made for lovely service. Definitely worth a visit! Great view across to Dundee and the Rail bridge.
Beautiful food. Great service. Highly recommended!
The restaurant has indeed great view as it look pover River Tay and in the distance you can see Dundee. About the food, was just delicious, unique combinations of flavours coming from fresh ingredients. I got beef and it was so tender that I could cut it easily without knife! A bit expensive but gourmet experiences have a price.
Found this place by chance, and it was amazing. The food was superb, as was the service. Highly recommend 👌
We stopped here on a lark and it turned out to be one the best finds in Scotland! The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were more than adequate and the meals were very well prepared. The coffee drinks were just what we needed to get us going. The space itself was nicely decorated and very comfortable. Definitely worth deviating from our route for this place. Would love to come again.
Brilliant foodie venue ... can't recommend it highly enough
