Lovely little pub good atmosphere friendly staff it was my first visit to this place and will be going back next am up in Scotland
I've been going to the riverside for over 20 years, under a number of different owners and it has always been a cracking wee pub. For now, (January 2023) the staff are friendly and well natured. The clientele seems decent and there is pretty much no bother caused by anyone. The restaurant is closed for the moment, but is a great place to get some food and I've heard it will be open again soon.
Definitely recommended if you are in the area, best pub in Newmilns by far.
Considering this place is situated in a small village, with few resources and I’ve lived here for a while, I’m a relative stranger to the Riverside.
However, I visited with a couple of friends for a quiet drink the other night and received a lovely warm welcome.
It was quiet, but the service was excellent and the jukebox kept the atmosphere pleasant without being too rowdy.
I know that depending on the night, you can hear live bands and karaoke.
I’m planning on returning based on my experience the other night so I guess thats the highest compliment I can make.
So don’t be shy. Go in and say hello.
Would recommend for a meal menu wasn't massive but everyone in our party enjoyed their meal so it seems what is on offer is cooked to a high standard also nice beer garden for those few sunny days a year in Ayrshire

Very nice quiet pub in a village. Staff very friendly. Food was wonderful and lots of it. Will definitely be back soon.

We hopped in with the family on the way home, the food was simple but amazing.
Food was excellent freshly made. Service was spot on very attentive and pleasant, we certainly will be back.
Was in today , had the 10oz steak, it was perfection, and the waitress was brilliant . 👏

Book early tho to avoide disappointment in getting a table as this place gets real busy real fast.
