Booking a birthday meal for a carnivore (with an intolerance to various nuts,) and three vegetarians (one of whom can't have dairy, and one of whom can't have dairy, soy or gluten) felt like an impossible challenge - but the team at Peace & Loaf were brilliant!
The chefs adapted the long tasting menu for all of our requirements. The presentation was exquisite, and the dishes varied and beautifully cooked.
We were made so welcome, and had a really lovely evening. The staff were attentive, and talked us through each dish - happy to answer our questions about interesting herbs and flavours.
It was a expensive treat for us - but we felt it was excellent value for money, and well worth splashing out on, for a special occasion.
Wonderful tasting menu experience in a restaurant with a unique interior design. Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable about the many dishes that were served. Nice to be able to savour all of the food and not feel that you were being rushed. Would highly recommend if you are a foodie and would also book in advance as it is a popular place.
Went for the large taster menu which was £70 per person, one of the best meals I have had in a long time, lovely environment with nice mood lighting, helpful and really chatty staff, the food was exquisite, had tons of flavour and a huge variety of different tastes and textures. The quality of the food was amazing and tried some new things, couldn’t hack the oyster far to adventurous for me, but yes not a place for picky eaters I tell ya!

Both service and food are excellent. I went for the shorter menu as I didn’t have time for the full tasting menu. They didn’t bat an eyelid or charge the earth when I asked to add a course from the tasting menu. I’ll be back for the full tasting experience as soon as I can.
Yum. We don’t go here often but we go regularly for special occasions. P&L just get it right. Excellent food excellent atmosphere excellent service and parking right outside. What’s not to love. Amazing creations delivered quickly and without fuss. Big up to Tom who looked after us this evening. I was licking my lips all the way home and still had nice flavours going on when I got there. Thank you again and see you as soon as it can be warranted.
Lovely lunch had the taster menu with wine flight excellent value for money both the soup and scallop dish stood out for myself and my partner. Service and food quality were excellent if your in the area and want a fine dining experience without the price tag give Peace and Loaf a try we have been to Roots , Black Swan, Nathan outlaws to name but a few and honestly for a fraction of the price you can enjoy good food and service would definitely recommend.
Fantastic from start to finish. There was so much food it was a challenge at the end. The wine pairing was top notch. Michelin prices, but it's worth the treat. I'm not sure why you're still reading this - just go.
very fancy restaurant but yet seems not very high strung and it's quite chill. our family got the taster menu and everything was prepared so delicately and precisely it was a great night. not everything I was keen on the taste of but that is somewhat to be expected with am experience like this. would go again
Had the Christmas 2022 tasting menu, absolutely incredible from start to finish. Venue is cosy yet classy. Staff were wonderful, kind and attentive. Would definitely go again
My first experience of fine dining and it was excellent
Food was first class we sampled the B tasting menu accompanied with wine tasting and the wine was superb!
The staff were excellent with their knowledge of the food and the characteristics of how the wine paired with dish was chosen. Altogether it was an excellent evening. Definitely will go back
Went for the festive vegetarian tasting menu but asked ahead if they could make it vegan, peace and loaf did not disappoint. They just couldn't make one of the pudding courses vegan so gave a cocktail instead. We were looked after by the staff really well through our visit and all the dishes were amazing. Definitely worthy of a five star rating.
Incredible! The atmosphere, the team and the food made the whole experience 5 star. Everything on the £65 tasting menu was delicious, the flavours matched perfectly and we were definitely full by the end of it. Thank you so much to the whole team and we hope to be back!
Exceptionally high quality food, amazing array of flavours across the tasting menu! Service was quick, friendly and very professional. Great selection of local beers and the NE2 Martini was delicious. Only loses a star as I unfortunately found a hair in one of my courses. Overall I Highly recommend Peace and Loaf for anyone wanting to experience high quality dining in Newcastle
Had to rewrite this review because as always words just sometimes fail me, even though I gave it 5 stars last time too... I didn't take any photos on my last visit because in honesty.... I ate everything before even considering doing so! 🙈
We absolutely loved our anniversary date here today.
The menu is mind blowingly awesome and taste bud euphoric.
The wine flight was just so absolutely perfect. Additionally the playlist was great too, making the vibe perfect.
What I loved was seeing a very young diner about 3 or 4 years old enjoying himself too! This venue is so welcoming to families, couples & groups alike.
Staff are so professional & knowledgeable about the entire menu including the wines ect.
I just know I'm going to spend the rest of the day day dreaming of that cabbage & black pudding starter!
We both just can't wait to go again ...
10 course taster menu was superb and very filling. Breakfast and dinner definitely not required! Food was all extremely tasty and the courses complimented each other very well. Vegetarian in party also received a great vegetarian version version of the same menu with excellent vegetarian substitutions (some of which were superior in my opinion).
The restaurant itself has wonderful staff who are both knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Decor is stylish and music pipes tastefully over head to support the friendly and intimate atmosphere despite each table being populated.
Toilets are clean and tastefully decorated.
Definitely one for special occasions.

This was our first "out out" day since lockdown, it was wonderful and worth the wait. Food and Service was excellent. We chose tasting menu B and enjoyed all the paired wines too. Absolutely delicious experience!
Couldnt find fault with the experience that Peace & Loaf had to offer. We had the 10 course tasting menu which turned in to 11 courses due to an extra surprise course.
The food and atmosphere were exquisite and we left very satisfied. Top marks.
Cannot praise P&L highly enough . Everything is excellent, food is amazing, the fixed prix lunch menu is a steal at £25.00 a head. We added the desert assiette so had 4 deserts to share, they were truly delicious. Staff are lovely, very attentive without being obtrusive and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Don't hesitate to go, you'll not be sorry !
