The most amazing meal! Kenny and his team have done an incredible job turning the space into this beautiful food lover’s paradise. Each course is an incredible study of the key ingredient, with so much care and attention given. The chicken skin to start makes you question your own Sunday roast, and the lobster. Oh my days the lobster. I’d also like to draw attention to the age of the team, to see such amazing food come come out of a young kitchen is so inspiring. The future of food in Newcastle is in safe hands

We had an absolutely incredible meal at Solstice: melt in the mouth flavours, and faultless service in a small and intimate venue on the quayside. It was a really nice touch to be served by the chefs, including Kenny, and hear how each dish is prepared and cooked. The wine pairing was amazing and went perfectly with each dish. Our favourites of the evening were the beetroot starter, catch of the day and the venison but everything was so good. It’s a great place for a special occasion meal!

We went to Solstice for a pre-Christmas dinner and quickly realised it was a great decision. The staff are very friendly and attentive, explaining why each wine pairs well with the respective courses and how all the wonderful ingredients come together in each course. We loved every single one of the 18 courses and the caviar, cod roe, lobster, scallop and squab pigeon were spectacular amongst the savoury courses. When it came to desserts, honey was one of the best desserts I have tasted in a long time, using local heather honey in several ways and textures to create a fantastic sweet experience. The wine pairing is excellent, we found each wine complimented the courses very well. I would absolutely recommend a visit and I hope we can go back in the future.

Simply stunning. Kenny and his small team have created something which feels exquisitely refined whilst intimate, friendly and relaxed at the same time. With only 12 covers and the food being served and described by the chefs themselves, you instantly sense the passion to deliver an unforgettable experience. The setting is smart and bright; think crisp white tablecloths, beautiful cutlery and light fittings, with a unexpected music selection making the surroundings feel less stuffy and formal. The 18 course tasting menu read like a list of the finest ingredients available, and the initial selection of amuse-bouche set the tone with an entire tin of caviar making it clear luxury was the aim! Each bite delivered strong, defined balanced flavours. The presentation was, as expected, truly exceptional. Every element of the dish was proudly described in detail by the chef who had prepared it and the wine paring was both varied and exciting, again described with genuine enthusiasm by the sommelier. The staff clearly enjoyed what they did and were happy to chat, as was Kenny, who at the end of the night sat with guests and chatted to us about the inception of the restaurant and his aspirations for it. A truly unforgettable culinary experience.

We visited in early July. We have been to many fine dining restaurants both in the UK and overseas and we can say that Solstice is without doubt one of the best we have been to. The consistency of the quality and creativity of the dishes throughout the menu was amazing as even in the best restaurants , you can often come away saying that one or two courses were ‘average’. But not at Solstice where nothing fell short of fantastic ( we even joked with the waitress that we needed to find some new superlatives!). While all the courses were great in their own way, we would have to say that the Caviar, Langoustine and Pigeon were real stand outs. Coupled with an imaginative wine pairing made the evening. We can’t also comment on the experience without mentioning the staff. It was lovely to see and hear from Kenny himself , a real pleasure for us. But each and every one of the team were so knowledgeable and engaging. We have our favourite go to restaurants for special occasions and Solstice will be firmly at the top of that list. Thanks again to Kenny and the team for a wonderful evening

Food excellence at it highest. A balance blend of a experience, theater. Finesse ans an deep level of understanding and appreciation of taste. I An excellent opportunity to see food. Wing taken to a different level! Bravo! I'd definitely recommend this. It's not just eating it's opening up your senses.

Masterful. An experience like no other; elegant food, intimate atmosphere, professional, personable & knowledgeable staff. Excellent wine suggestions from Zak and his expertise were impeccable. A wonderful experience being able to connect with the chefs as they introduced each dish to us and it was a pleasure to meet Kenny himself. A special shout out to Ben Howard, who had a good chat with us and took his time to answer our questions. The chefs were incredibly passionate about their food. A unique experience.

What a stunning experience. We felt like we had to write a review, due to just how special this was. The attention to detail and the quality of every dish was exquisite. The restaurant is intimate and it made the experience for us. Two star worthy in my opinion. Great value too, especially when you consider the prep required, the quality of the ingredients and the small number of covers. You've nailed this one Kenny. Congrats to you and the whole team! We had a great night!!! Thank you!

Fantastic birthday meal. Amazing food friendly service and sommelier. Google won’t let me review again so Edited 3rd April 2023. We went back a second time and food and service was outstanding again, the menu had changed slightly from our last visit which was nice. Staff and service were fantastic again , really friendly and not stuffy at all which is always a plus point. already thinking about a 3rd visit later this year. Another 5 stars
