Went for the tomahawk Tuesday, 4 of us all together. The location is really nice, easy to find and would be great on a summer's night.
The tomahawk steaks were some of the best steaks we have ever had. Would definitely recommend them.
The service wasn't the best. We were served at the kitchen by a young lad who didn't seem interested at all, wasn't very welcoming and while we were ordering was getting told off due to a problem with a previous order.
The food then took around 50 minutes with the place being rather quiet. One of the meals had the wrong sauce on it but was exchanged by the kitchen eventually.
If the service was improved this would be the place to go!
Had Tomahawk Steak cooked medium and was perfect. Really good deal and price, definitely be back for more
Finally managed to try Fat Butcher's Tomahawk Tuesday with the lads and it did not disappoint!
Was busy with other punters seemingly having the same idea so had to wait over an hour for our table of 5 Tomahawks in total.
Added prawns were extra but they were massive too. Could had done with more sauce but overall was very enjoyable and would definitely be back for more.
Including drinks bought at the bar came to a very reasonable £30 per head
Awesome pizzas at Carlos Pizzaria in the garden. Authentic freshly made pizzas. I had the pollo bbq and it was amazing. ...What a find...Great coffee and the cannelloni desserts were a real touch of Italy.might be a secret garden but it was very busy. Five Stars all the way
.
Not a bad place to be honest. I admit going on match day on Halloween wasn't the best option but there you go.
The drinks are fairly standard in the pumps with no surprises but there was a good range of bottled options available.
If you do like sport, the screen is huge (sorry for the bad picture).
Food was nice from a small range of kitchens, pizza, burgers, steaks, bao buns and they were not badly priced.
The blue cheese burger was really pretty good. Good outside space with seats for the summer. May get a bit chilly in the winter but there are heaters.
A good start/end point for a Seaton Deleval pub crawl.
Lovely beer garden with local indoor pub! All food vendors have amazing menus with lots to pick from! Perfect little day out with the family and dogs 😁
Cafe has the most amazing desserts 🧁
We had a very tasty Sunday lunch and stayed for the quiz at 4pm. We really enjoyed ourselves even if we didn't win. The place itself is a bit "rustic" but the bar is good with canny draft and decent wine. The service was excellent. The chap cooking the Sunday lunches in what looked like the tiniest of kitchens was working like a trojan when I ordered the food, bless him. If you're looking for tasty food with no frills and good service, give it a try.
Lovely wee place, especially on a sunny day. Came on a Sunday evening with the family for some food, and we enjoyed fantastic pizza and loaded fries. There are plenty of picnic benches outside and food options along one side, but you could sit inside the main building if you like (they have nice cocktails too). The pub quiz was half way through but sounded like a good range of questions and not too overbearing if you weren't taking part - I'll have to come earlier next time! Special thanks to the waitress who ran out with my phone that I'd left on my seat, many thanks :D
We went to try the steak night offer and would definitely go again. Lovely setting, you could be anywhere! The food was lovely, staff on hand to offer advice as it is an unusual concept that works so well. My only concern is that most of the concessions do not take cash so that can exclude certain people who value using 💷.
Heard so much about this restaurant and on way back to Scotland from holiday we took a 2 hour detour to try this place for ourselves. We were certainly not disappointed as the tomahawk steaks were the best we have ever had for taste and quality. Such a friendly atmosphere and staff could not have done any more for us. Christina and all the staff keep doing what you are doing . Excellent and thanks again

Well organised venue, great staff, food good . Only downside was that it was quite cold inside, possibly due to the weather. Outside areas looked nice and warm with fire pit heating. Possibly could do with more toilet facilities.
i went to the secret garden for tomahawk tuesday, and the food i received was lovely. i was seated and very politely spoken to by a young woman who i believed was called lily. she was really lovely and helped us understand the way that it worked and how each individual restaurant was their own little company! overall a great experience.
Absolutely brilliant. Great range of food to please any one. Fantastic value too. Just a shame we are only here for a few days. Highly recommended. Staff and prices unbeatable..
We originally stopped at the coffee shop early in the week for a morning coffee. The ladies told us about the Secret Garden and suggested we have a walk outside to check it out...
We loved the concept and decided to jump online and see what upcoming events were on. We went in on a Friday night for the Bongo Bingo. It was lots of fun and most the groups were pretty wild. It was all said and done by 9pm which was a bit sad as we thought it could have continued for almost twice as long!
The secret garden itself though, was empty. There was no atmosphere or people to speak of. There was at least 2 kittens roaming about though, which were pretty cute.
We did order some food from 1 of the vendors and it was unfortunately below average, with processed chicken on the loaded fries, so we probably wouldn't return.
Staff were great, really friendly and helpful. Food is reasonably priced for the type of venue and there's plenty to choose from and what we had tasted great. Decent portion sizes for the cost. They seem to have a good variety of drinks on the menu too. Quite different in its set-up to a typical bar and worth the journey.
