"Wow, just had the most amazing meal at Khai Khai! The food was an absolute taste explosion. I tried the chicken curry, and it was so flavorful and perfectly spiced. The naan bread was warm and fluffy – just how I like it. If you're a fan of Indian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. The hospitality was top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. They even recommended some dishes, and I'm so glad they did because they were spot on. As for the atmosphere, it was cozy and inviting. Dim lighting, comfortable seating, and some lovely background music made for a perfect evening. Whether you're on a date or having dinner with friends, Khai Khai sets the right mood. Overall, I can't recommend Khai Khai enough. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere

We had curry at three different Indian restaurants last week and Khai Khai was by far the best. Very rich and flavorful. Especially the buckwheat curry we had was spectacular. Not too salty or bland, it was creamy and bringing out the natural flavor out of buckwheat to the fullest. I was surprised to find a 10% service charge added to my bill though. I wish they informed us or made it optional.

Was so impressed with the food . Service . Atmosphere. I would definitely go back . I had the classic vindaloo. Omg was fantastic. Hot but not silly. Full of flavour Onion Baji again fantastic as where the prawns to start and chicken starter. Well worth a visit.

Visited for restaurant week, busy place but the table service was spot on, food was tasty and presented well. We didn't leave feeling hungry, or feel rushed. A bit hot seated downstairs, but there were lots of people, so a little stroll along the quayside to let dinner settle, and get some fresh air was needed afterwards.

So this place is fantastic..BUT if booking a reservation online be careful because we booked for 2pm (first time visit) & upon arrival we were advised to quickly place our order because the kitchen was closing at 14:15 ... Which isn't really desirable - in hindsight I wish the booking system hadn't allowed me to book that particular time as we would have happily made our way earlier or later on .. on reflection there were also slots available to book when the restaurant was actually closed, which is something I feel needs rectified so this fantastic place doesn't end up losing custom. Service was brilliant, the place is beautiful & very clean ..meal portions were surprisingly large and it was very evident that produce used was high quality & everything was executed to total perfection! We were also very taken aback by how reasonable the prices were .. my only gripe ... was that due to the reservation we made we were the only people there & it was evident we were stopping staff from finishing shift ..& that made us feel guilty for sort of not eating quick enough .. Aside from that though ..❤️☺️❤️ totally the BEST Indian Cuisine in the city - the signature black lentils are also a definite delight & the gunpowder fries are unreal!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Khai Khai Newcastle, an Indian restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. We opted for the smoke plates, and the flavors we encountered were simply phenomenal. Starting with the chicken kebab, it was perfectly cooked and packed with spices that created a wonderful blend of flavors. The meat was tender and juicy, with a hint of smokiness that added a unique touch to the dish. Next, we tried the lamb chops, and they were a true highlight of our meal. The lamb was incredibly succulent and had a beautiful charred exterior that enhanced its taste. The seasoning was spot on, resulting in a harmonious balance of spices that danced on the palate. We also ordered the chaat, a traditional Indian street food dish. It was a burst of tangy and spicy flavors, with a medley of crispy textures. The combination of the crunchy puris, tangy tamarind chutney, cooling yogurt, and aromatic spices made it a delightful and refreshing appetizer. To complement our meal, we had the tadka daal. The lentils were cooked to perfection, with a rich and creamy texture. The tadka, or tempering, infused the dish with layers of aromatic spices and flavors, making it a comforting and satisfying choice. The overall dining experience at Khai Khai Newcastle was fantastic. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the meal. The ambiance was warm and inviting, providing a pleasant environment to savor the delicious food. If you're looking for authentic Indian flavors and a diverse range of dishes, I highly recommend Khai Khai Newcastle. Their smoke plates, including the chicken kebab and lamb chops, are exceptional, and the chaat and tadka daal were equally delightful. It's a must-visit for Indian food enthusiasts seeking a memorable dining experience

Had an excellent meal of the superb tandoori broccoli starter (try it) and lamb roganjosh, then rice pudding with lovely cardamom flavour. Perfect textures and deep spice.

Went there for my son’s birthday and been back many times. Some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted. I suggest the chefs 9 sample course to check everything out. You won’t be disappointed

Delicious! Great varied menu, lots of veggie options. We loved the sound of all the small plates so had lots of these rather than a start / main style meal. Fabulous paneer, naans, daal, bhajis, cocktails. So tasty. Good service, attentive but not too much.

Food was good as the name suggests it’s not specifically Bangali food but Indian restaurant. Keema naan, lamb curry and biriyani was good. Coffee smell was awesome couldn’t not have as I was full will try next time.

Had the chefs feast at £39 per person. Pre starter, starter, main, and dessert. Absolutely fantastic, every dish was spiced fantastic, some having a different twist to what I have had before, but in such a lovely way. The butter chicken for instance had a far more cardamom flavour than I am used to and would be my dish of the meal.

Visited here on resteraunt week. We were seated downstairs and it was a bit warm to say the least. Could have done with some air con. Food and service were spot on. Not sure if we'll be back though.
