We also visited another 2 galleries of paintings which spanned several styles including artists from the Newlyn School.
The gallery is close to the Library and free
The gallery featured paintings created using various mediums (such as watercolour and oil). The paintings also provided an informative depiction of Newcastle through a historical perspective. The staff were also really friendly. I enjoyed my experience and would happily go again!
I visited the Gallery as part of the gala opening evening event of the annual conference of the British museum association 2023.
I should have and probably will spend there more time. It's certainly worth that investment.

Lovely art works. Only down side being lack of description/story behind the paintings, something which they have in the Manchester art gallery for example.
