First time for me at this Good Beer Guide entry in 2024. An old trad exterior but has been completely refurbished inside. Always appreciate when the barman pulls the beer standing in the pipes overnight off before serving resulting in an excellent pint. TNT Sports on the screens, Smooth music on in the background. Charging points dotted around.
A really nice pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Had myself a couple of pints of chocoholic ale which went down a treat. Highly recommended
Great bar that usually has a great atmosphere. Amazing choice when it vomes to beers and ales. Great place to drink ones you don't see elsewhere in town.
This bar is a hidden gem. I've passed by many times and happenstance dictated that i went in. I can't judge too much as I only stopped in for a quick couple. I didn't have any food other than some warm pork scratchings. Which were delicious by the way!
Atmosphere, was really calm and chilled for a busy central bar, which was refreshing for a busy Saturday afternoon.
The beer selection is phenomenal, ales galore. A quick couple for me quickly became a conundrum but I managed to settle for a brown ale (can't quite remember the brewery as there was so many!) But that was a lovely problem to have, and the beer top notch.
Next time, I'm staying, and trying all of them!!! Maybe some proper food too.
Always amazing. Remember when it was a cheese and pate bar. We moved away and 25 ago and whenever we are back in the toon we have to go there. The beer is always amazing with superb choices and rare beers. The staff are so welcoming. Just great.

We didn't eat but enjoyed a few drinks. The atmosphere was great. Everyone was polite and friendly. Staff have great customer service skills
I've visited this bar many times and will continue to do so. My favourite real ale, Titanic Plum Porter was being served, so had to call in. Great bar, great staff and well kept real ales. Highly recommended!
Nice pub. A good few years since I was last in, but as good as I remembered it. Great value on drinks too 🥰
Great bar with an alright selectioj of beers, atmosphere spoilt by bar staff throwing bottles in the bin, such an unsettling sound for customers.

Great pub in Newcastle city centre. Extensive selection of cask, keg and packaged beers. Good option for a drink before shows at the Tyne Theatre given that it's pretty much next door.

Nice bar, great staff. They even put the football on one game just for me. The photo was a guy showing the tricks the dog does.

Brilliant pub for football. Possibly the most efficient bar staff ever. Watched the Cup Final here and it was rammed, but you were never waiting more than a couple of minutes to be served and for most rounds it was instant. Highly recommended.
