Went for a family birthday meal. Lovely food and great service. Fantastic service from the gentleman with the Batman belt, who went the extra mile and nothing was a bother for him. Would definitely recommend to others and will return. Thank you again!

Was a lovely treat on valentines night. Had been before and was busy, not tonight, tables were lovely, fresh flowers, red napkins, lovely hearts on the table. We had a starters and a main, he had a pudding. Grill night was on and he had an 8oz steak with chips and peas, and a drink (ale) for £8.50 excellent value for money, I had chicken and leek pie, veg and mash, pie was a little dry but was washed down with a little pot of gravy. Service was good by the girl, she got a little confused over our order but got sorted, the man was excellent and courtious, lovely night, lovely food and great company.

Easter Sunday Lunch for a group of 11 including 4 very happy youngsters. Excellent service, fantastic staff, good atmosphere, brewed onsite beer and great choices on the menu of the day, very good value for money indeed with all of the meals cooked perfectly to order, not to mention the huge deserts, which rounded off a lovely afternoon in a very pleasant Brewery/Bar/Restaurant. Highly recommended. J & W

My friends and I were given permission to park our Motorhomes at the Keelman for the weekend. We ate twice over the weekend and had some great tasting ales, food was spot on and the staff were great. Thanks for a great weekend Keelman.

Lovely lunch in the sun yesterday. Food was delicious, Bbq burger and panini and the service was quick and friendly. Also great that we can enjoy a meal outside with our dog.

I've stayed twice now, both times with my young son and we love it. The team are so welcoming to both me and him, they always have a chat with him about the football and he was delighted when they recognised him this time. He left a little disappointed that he didn't get to catch up with Kieron though 🤣🤣🤣! We will definitely stay again, and would definitely recommend to anyone with children looking for a quiet place to stay!

What a lovely place to stay! The room was very comfortable and cool after a hot, long day of walking Hadrian’s Wall. The food at the pub was fantastic and breakfast and the packed lunch were generous and delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly! Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Stayed here for the Sam Fender gig as everywhere in town was ridiculously expensive. Lovely location, very idyllic. There are cows and horses in the fields next to it and lots of greenery. It's right next to the Tyne Riverside Country park where you can walk all the way along the river to Wylam. The bar is good and they have a selection of their own beers. Breakfast was decent at £10 a head, with a selection of cold bits, unlimited tea/coffee and a cooked breakfast. Rooms were slightly dated but no complaints - tea and coffee making facilities were provided and the shower was hot with good pressure. Only downside of staying here was that there's no metro and buses stop around 11am - a taxi into/from town was around £22. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice pub/inn/lodge near the river Tyne, outside Newburn. They were a bit short on staff and the pub was very busy. But service was OK, and the Salmon lodge, where we stayed is just quiet outside the pubs terrace.

I have to say what a wonderful place to stay. Food was very good 👍 staff couldn't do enough to help they went out of there way to do everything possible 😀 and the housekeeping staff were brilliant rooms spotless. And also not forgetting the wonderful spread that was put on for a 100th birthday party fantastic thank you again

We had a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived, in the pouring down rain, the staff was pleasant and helpful. After a day of walking in the rain following Hadrian’s Wall, we had a wonderful dinner, long showers in the spacious bathroom, and a good sleep in a comfortable bed. It got even better the next morning with a delicious full English before we hit the path again. We definitely recommend to other travelers.

I went here to treat myself to a weekend away after a spell of poor health. I couldn't have chosen better really. My room was on the ground floor in the Salmon Cottage building and faced the garden at the back of the property. I wanted serenity and I got it. Lovely deep bath with an amazingly powerful shower and the room was warm and cosy. Bed was super comfy. I ate in the restaurant each night as I like a glass or two of wine with my dinner and didn't want to drive anywhere. The menu, I would say, is fairly simple pub grub but generous portions, well presented and most importantly, hot! I had to ask for half portions on everything. I had breakfast there too. It was ok, a small set of choices but again, plentiful and hot. I'm not an ale drinker but the Big Lamp brewery is right next door and I believe they do tours in high season. I had a walk by the river either before or after dinner every evening. At the weekend the rowers were out (there is a rowing club very nearby which is also nice for a drink with views across the river). The standout for me was the staff, who were really accommodating and instantly made me feel welcome, which is really important when you're travelling alone. I must mention Helen, who couldn't do enough for me and was very attentive. I'd like to go back when the weather is better as I can imagine the river walks would be stunning with the woodlands in full bloom. The building is beautiful and I felt so chilled out when I left on Sunday. It was exactly what I needed and just a 40 minute drive from where I live.

This place was great. At first, we didn't know where the Keelman Lodging was so we asked a staff member in the brewery and she was super kind and told us where to go. Our room was quite big, with two medium sized beds, a table, window and a bathroom. The room was clean and tidy. The location is just outside of Newcastle and the nearest Metro station is about a 10 minute drive away.

Lovely stay, attended a family 100th birthday celebration. Room comfortable and clean. Plumbing annoyingly noisy when being used, but nice hot, powerful shower.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were more than happy. We couldn't fault anything, we have give it 5 stars due to the following, nothing was a problem, hospitality was perfect(typical of the Geordie culture, I've not met a miserable one yet). The accommodation was clean and well fitted out, price good too. The beer and food were good and believe me I have drank a few beers and eaten a fair few meals too 🤣🤣. Overall I can highly recommend this venue

Despite covid we felt very safe during our stay here. Its clear the hotel and pub take social distancing and government advice seriously, with plenty of lovely outdoor seating, a marquee and a one-way system for ordering food and drink. The building is simply beautiful. Our room was quiet, with lovely garden views and spotlessly clean. We ate in the pub - a separate upstairs dining area was set aside for hotel guests- and the food was fresh and tasty. It did take a while to come but we were kept informed during to a staff shortage, and service for drinks was very attentive as we waited. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and sampling some of the brewery's dark beers. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - great location and lovely stay. Thank you! 😁😁

When arriving the lady who checked me and my friend in was a bit grumpy, but I think we had arrived at a busy time. The rooms were spacious and had really comfortable beds. The bathroom had a bath in, which was bliss after walking Hadrian's Wall for the last 6 days. The radiators were fantastic at heating up the room quickly and drying clothes. The rooms were a little dated, the carpet wasn't the cleanest and there were a few cobwebs in the room. The Sunday roast was really good, and the selection for breakfast was amazing. The waiters were super attentive and friendly. The chef was really accommodating allowing me to take food to my friend who wanted a lie in. Would stay here again, despite the couple of let downs, everything else was fantastic.

Great location for our walk on Hadrians Wall. Restaurant and pub were great. The rooms are just so-so. Matrices and pillow were sub-par. Room was very dated.

Excellent place to stay overnight while in Newcastle area as an alternative to the inflated prices of a city center hotel room on a Saturday night. Room was very nice and in a location away from the pub and restaurant. As this is also a micro brewery there was a good selection of local ales to choose from and all of quality. Food was also good quality and the beer garden full to capacity. The only negative is trying to find the place even with sat nav. The post code takes you to the boat club but it is not far from there and all the locals pointed us in the right direction. Costs £15-20 for a taxi to/from the Quayside but beware even the black cab taxi drivers are not sure of this location. Breakfast is well worth the money with continental and hot choices.
