Came here tonight with the family for my son's 18th birthday meal and can't fault the place. The new staff are fantastic. They were a pleasure to talk to and knew their stuff! Craig and Grace were so lovely amd attentive.The food was spot on and we didn't have to wait ages. Whoever cooked the steak cooked it to perfection! We will definitely be back.
Ate here for the first time and I was very impressed!the veggie burger was one of the best I've ever eaten,lovely food!my partner was equally impressed!will defo return and would recommend!�
A vegan menu!! Hooray to that! Choice of starters, mains and puds; I haven't tried them all yet, but I certainly will be! And the vegan food I did have was lovely. Pleased my local pub is now on board with this! �

This used to be my local before I moved away. Constantly here when I have time off. I love the atmosphere, bar staff (especially Craig) and events on during the week. Food is great and alcohol prices are reasonable! It’s my home away from home
I'm updating my review and adding one star, as in my second and third visit I had other dishes and they were way better than sandwiches.
Grill meat is amazing, nachos and lasagna as well! You guys got one star more from me :)
It's a nice place, big parking space, nice dinning area and big pub menu, they are also dog friendly. My only complaint is that food pictures in menu are really different to reality. I will repeat in that place for sure an may change the stars
Lovely pub, nice and quiet when I went. Service was good and nice food, really friendly staff. Only suggestion I have is regarding keeping an eye on the caddies on the tables with the condiments in, I checked a couple of tables to get salt and there was odd cutlery. Would visit again if in the area!
Went for a family gathering for our nieces birthday a table of 8. Service was great, food delicious. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great afternoon.
Booked a table for Sunderland v Newcastle. Table provided was first class, right in front of the big screen. The lady working behind the bar greeted us and explained fully how the day would work with no coffee being served to help keep the flow of drinks going, completely fair. Food ordered on the app and arrived quickly despite the bar being packed. Viewing experience of the match was superb with volume up and all screens in sync so no delays spoiling the game. Top class service from The Duke.
Had lunch here yesterday with my husband , we both had scampi . The meals were delicious and staff friendly . Beautiful seating area outside for sunny days.

The staff were very friendly and approachable, especially engaging well with our 2 year old and making her very welcome.
The only real negative was when the 2 year old needed a wee and asked her daddy to take her he found the disabled toilet seat was cracked and male toilets weren't very clean and asked me to take her instead.

Friendly, faded traditional pub, past its best days but worth a visit for the food and drink offerings.
Very reasonably priced,delicious meals. The biggest steak and ale pie I've had in a pub. Staff couldn't do enough for us. First visit but definitely not the last.
I went back the following Saturday and had the nicest pub fish and chips ever. Really good quality fish and loads of mushy peas.

I've raved about this pub to everyone I know to the point I think they find me annoying now 😂
The food is brilliant value for money. Not sure where else you can get a sharer steak with an entire baked camambert to dip and enough chips and waffle fries to feed an army for £25.
The flat breads are also lush and so is the bbq sharer. My hubby has also had the burgers there a couple of times and really enjoys them.
We always sit outside and the employees are happy to bring our food out to us every time and some of them will even bring our drinks outside of they're not too busy.
The outside seating area is huge and it is absolutely lovely.
The bar staff are so friendly!
I think we have been there at least once a week for the last couple of months. It is a little bit of a treck for us since we don't drive but I will happily take a taxi to spend a few hours in what has become my new favourite pub. Coming from someone who doesn't drink often at all that's saying something, but I am happy to come and spend time in the sun and have a berry punch.
