A few friends and I went for dinner and it was fab! Staff were so lovely and the food was great! Very fast service! Easily the nicest Chinese meal iv had in a long time! Cannot recommend this place enough!

This restaurant is my favourite by far! Food, staff are brilliant, and good value for money. Always made welcome, laid back, unhurried atmosphere. A gem of a find, in the heart of Gosforth, far superior to Chinatown/Stowell Street.
Every time I travel to Newcastle I always make sure I have a night out at Gosforth Palace, or Poons as it used to be. Service is impeccable and the food is to die for, especially the Aromatic Duck. Always a fantastic night out highly recommended.

We were there early Thursday evening and the service and food were impeccable as usual. It does a takeaway service too which we used when our kitchen was being done out a few years ago.

Got a delivery, they said it would take 40 mins. Must of arrived in fifteen. Lovely munch and the delivery driver had a bit of patter about the footy. Proper pukkaz 10/10!

Absolutely fantastic food, atmosphere and service. Quality of food was excellent, freshly cooked and good sized portions. Menu is extensive with plenty of authentic dishes. There was a good selection of seafood and vegetarian options as well as the usual meat choices. The dim sum was particularly nice. Prices were very reasonable. Servers were really friendly and welcoming, and service was quick (but not rushed). The atmosphere was lovely. We will definitely be returning.

From the moment I made the call, I was impressed by their personal touch; they instantly recognised who I was and had my address on hand, saving me the hassle of repeating my details.
The individual who took my order was not just helpful but incredibly considerate, paying close attention to our specific needs and preferences. The delivery itself was prompt, and the driver was fantastic – friendly and professional, making the entire experience even more pleasant.

We have been to the Gosforth Palace many times. Yesterday afternoon we took our six month old son with us for the first time.
As ever the food was lovely. I wanted to highlight how friendly all the staff were with him. They had even set a place for him at the table. It was nice to for us to see him being included and welcomed. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Interior is modern and comfortable with good use of celling hanging semi transparent dividers to increase a feeling of privacy whilst still being in the nice bustling atmosphere of a restaurant full of happy customers.
Staff were very quick and very attentive at all times. All good was of a high quality without having to hide everything in over powering sauces. High quality meat and will be back if I'm in the area.
Went to celebrate my daughters birthday. Big thanks to the Gosforth Palace for an excellent night. The restaurant decor is nice and bright, very clean. Staff, food all first class. Looking forward to our next visit.

A luxury dining experience with excellent service.
The gentleman who served us was polite, pleasant, and game for a laugh - but in no way imposed himself on proceedings. A masterclass in excellent customer service.
The restaurant is spacious with big tables separated by muslin screens, giving an air of privacy and exclusivity.
We had the set menu and were blown away by the value. Prawn toast and ribs to start. Prawn toast was a highlight with plenty of big, fat prawns stuffed in there. For mains we shared chicken satay and Szechuan beef. The satay way nutty, sweet, and just a tad spicy (that's a good thing). The Szechuan dish was an absolute delight. It was sweet, sticky, but peppery and spicy and the meat melted on the tongue. Sweet mandarins as an aperitif were a novel and welcome touch. With two glasses of wine it came to just shy of fifty quid which, considering the quality of the space and the food, not to mention the outstanding service, in a posh part of town was more than fair. We're looking forward to bringing some friends for our next visit - thank you!
We've been coming here as a family for years. Continues to have a great atmosphere. Nice Western style Chinese food and great, very friendly service. Recommend to anyone in Newcastle and look forward to returning soon.
An exceptional restaurant with welcoming staff and really top class food. Amazing tropical fish tank at the entrance. Has a stair lift. Screening between tables is so tasteful and jn character and adds to the ambiance.

We turned up on NYE at 18.40 for a family of 4. We hadn't booked and thought we would be unlucky as the restaurant was heaving. They managed to get us a table. Because it was NYE it was a set menu at £32 a person. We had 2 kids with us who aren't big eaters. When I asked the waiter if there was a kids menu he just advised me to order 2 or 3 of the set menus and it would be more than enough food for us to share. He wasn't wrong. We ordered 2 set menus and were all stuffed. We had chicken and sweet corn soup, hot and sour soup, prawn crackers, hoisin duck and pancakes, salt and pepper pork, cheese, chilli and chicken spring rolls, lemon chicken with egg fried rice, garlic chilli prawns (unbelievably delicious) and boiled rice. Sooooo much food and all gorgeous. Would like to come on a normal night to see what it's like but after this dining experience I would 10000% recommend 😋
WE had a great experience here. Arrive at 5:30 (opening time) on a Tuesday night because we had the kids. The place already had a few people in it, and it got quite busy. They gave us free prawn crackers for the table, and We ordered a few starters and mains to share between us all, the food was excellent. The staff were all really friendly, and great with the kids. Parking nearby is reasonable and only charged till 6pm. All and all I'm one satisfied customer and I will be back and recommend to others. Thank you for a great meal and time gosforth palace.

Good food, large restaurant, nice atmosphere. Staff were very attentive. Big selection on the menu with the option of banquets if multiple people dining. High chairs available for kids but no baby change that I could see. The restaurant is upstairs and there is a stair lift but wouldn't be suitable for buggys.
