Second night eating here and I can not fault it.. beef bulgogi is amazing and just had my first taste of the Korean bbq kimbap and wow best sushi I’ve had.. a great addition to the area!
Never eaten Korean cuisine before but just had a takeaway from the Kimchi Planet pop up at The Staiths Cafe and gotta say we enjoyed every single bit of it. So appetizing, fresh, and each and every mouthful bursting with flavour. Loved it! 100% recommend!! <3
Josh and Helen catered for around 40 guests at a birthday party for us recently. They produced the most delicious fresh food with totally seamless service. They were also really positive, lovely people to have around and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough for private catering at any event.
Bought their bbq pork kimbap from the first few week when they just started the business at quayside, pretty much addicted to it ever since! The quality of their food has always been really nice and totally recommended!
Amazing food - delicious stuff served by lovely smiley people! And kimchi makes you look younger and live longer apparently so will be making this a regular treat
Just ate at this place today, whilst out wandering at Quayside market, Beef Bulgogi was fantastic!
Such a tasty discovery, would definitely recommend
My daughters and I love the food here, so fresh and tasty. Service is exceptional and has a personal touch, my daughter couldn't get what she wanted one Sunday as we were late down; but, she was made up some lovely veggie dumplings and told she would be looked out for the following visit and was, being served her favourite bulgogi rolls the following week.
Tried the pop up event at the Staiths cafe- absolutely lovely food !
I had the avocado kimchi roll, it was freshly made in front of me and it was delicious. Great , friendly service too. Nice talking to you both and I can't wait to call back for more :)
Kimchi planet has the most delicious, flavorful, and amazing authentic Korean street food. I’m so happy to have found this gem and will definitely be coming back.
Also, Deliveroo messed up my order and the first driver took the food from the restaurant and never delivered it, but they were so diligent and followed up with me and deliveroo to make sure that I got my food and it was really sweet.
Small little cafe that is tucked out the way, but serves the most delicious well presented food. Not loads to choose from but just enough . I don't think anything is over the price if 6 quid. Mine and my daughters new favourite place.
Found this place via a friend's recommendation and its my favourite Korean food place!!
The food is absolutely delicious and the price is reasonable and the portions are big.
I often come here by myself at lunchtime with a takeaway order or with my girlfriend for a nice dinner 😊.
The only criticism is that the restaurant doesn't have an on site restroom and the seating capacity is limited. Otherwise this place is amazing!
I'd recommend that Rice Bowl dishes and the Spicy Kimchi Fried Rice Dishes as they fill you up for a very reasonable price, not to mention they are very tasty!
Will always come here again 🙂
This place is absolutely fantastic if you want something different in Newcastle. My partner had m watching Korean videos during lockdown and she was overjoyed when she found out about this place. The food was beautiful and we would highly recommend the place. I am a bit of a typical man and like big portions, this place didn't disappoint and I left wobbling down the street to my car. This place is best got to by foot as parking is slim, we came in the late afternoon to avoid any rush and it was quiet but still no parking. We had a variety of choices across the menu and with the eat out to help out it was very very reasonable. To drink we had pear juice and the watermelon soda which was simply Divine, I think the best word to describe these is refreshing, and not like a can of coke type, this was unreal. We had some hottock for dessert which went down extremely well, kind of like an apple pie. Overall the experience was exactly as expected and if we wasn't moving away, we would both have been back.
Excellent new Korean cafe in a slightly unexpected neighbourhood, but all the more welcome for that! The food is honest home cooked style, very tasty, reasonably priced - and with a decent choice for vegetarians. Small selection of unusual soft drinks available, such as the watermelon soda that I enjoyed. Definitely worth checking out!
Fantastic place, food fresh make very quickly nice qualiti of ingredients. Order Rice bowl with chicken kimchi and sushi roll with Korean BBQ, delicious delicious delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
A place you have to visit! I visit this place a lot and it's always a great experience. Big portions, low prices, nice staff, and delicious healthy food. Highly recommending
Tasty Korean food with a good price for the portion. Always good quality since the place opened, definitely recommend.
Limited menu but the food on offer was fresh and well prepared. Reasonably priced, could have done with more meat in the dishes.
This felt exactly the same as when I lived in Korea and went to a family run place. The food is definitely authentic, perhaps tweaked a little too suit English eating styles, but the flavours are perfect. I had a good chat with the Korean staff in Korean and just felt completely transported back to Seoul. I had the spicy chicken rice bowl(덮밥) and green tea (현미녹차), I also had the Korean kimchi pancakes (김치전) not pictured and it was perfect. The store inside the shop is kind of cute but no frills, just like Korea and the atmosphere is really relaxed. I'm quite literally going back.... On Monday because my husband is jealous he missed out. ^^ 정말 한식맛이다. 맛있어요. 영국에서 더맛있고 한국처럼 있는 정소 없을거같아요.
