We went yesterday for Pie Tea. The four of us absolutely loved it, top quality delicious food and loads of it - we couldn't finish it all and brought some home with us - totally worth £15 per person. The staff were lovely, really friendly and chatty. I'll be recommending it to everyone (especially the sticky toffee pudding) and we'll definitely be back
We booked for the pie tea for 2 adults. The food was delicious and there was more than enough for 2 people. It defeated me and I had to bring some of the dessert home. The owners were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The atmosphere they have created in the shop is very relaxed and friendly and it has a very local feel. We will definitely be back for pie and pea supper.
Took my husband here today for an extra birthday treat of afternoon pie tea after a recommendation from a friend. Staff are warm and friendly, food is brilliant and you get SO much. We are so full that we won’t be able to move tonight! Brought some home too as couldn’t manage it all! Lovely place, small and inviting, with a friendly atmosphere and pretty fairy lights! Thoroughly recommend for a different afternoon tea
Bloody hell, that was good. Had the pie tea and it was one of the best value meals I've had. The best pease pudding and DEFINITELY the best sticky toffee pudding I've had in my life.!
Get yourself doon here for some proper geordie bait. Nee shite, just proper mint scran. Dee it.!
We had an absolutely fab afternoon. We had the pie tea and there was more than enough for 2 people. When the deserts came I could have cried with delight. Hot apple pie, sticky toffee pudding and and scone with jam and cream. What’s not to like. The live music was a bonus. We will be back again soon.
Wow what a little hidden gem! Brought the family (5 adults & 3 little’uns) 50 miles to visit and we were not disappointed! Such a good atmosphere for a little place, super quirky, very clean. The food..... oh..my..goodness it was beautiful.
We will be coming back for pie tea that’s for sure!!
Me and my family went there today for something different,
We had the pie tea and we are still full and we brought some of pudding home with us.
We are definitely going back.
It’s great northern food and a funky original idea! Great chatty staff too will definitely find an excuse to go back.
We had a treat day at work and all got a pie dinner. Lovely food and the owner is so friendly. Will definitely be going back for a pint with my pie next time.
Was lucky enough to win a free pie so we decided to call in tonight with family to have a pie dinna and to collect the pie. The food was all lovely and tasty and a great range of beers and gins of which there are more to come! Owner was really friendly and we came out with not just one free pie but two so thanks . A real gem which we will visit again.
Finally got here after months of trying. Food is amazing, staff really friendly and the suspended pies/coffee is a lovely touch. Kids loved it as well. My little girl said it was the best mince pie she had ever had. Definitely be back!!! Decent selection of local beers as well.
Waw! my daughter won a £20 voucher for here from an Easter raffle... lucky she did otherwise I would never of known about this little beaut! Absolutly lovely! Pies are delicious, cake amazing and they have a huge choice of traditional pops, beers and cidres! We live miles away but would defo be willing to travel to here again! What a delightful place, highly recommended xx
Went here today for a St Georges Celebration Day and the food was gorgeous, definitely recommend anyone going
Fabulous! Had the Pie Tea with added candles due to a power failure (not their fault the street was out) - food was amazing, fab beer choices and the staff were lovely and were very concerned about how the power cut would affect us. Luckily we'd had the first 2 courses and power came back on about half an hour later which gave us a nice rest before dessert. Would definitely go back
Fantastic night. £15pp well worth it for the pie tea. Service is great, friendly staff who are always happy to help.
Wonderful steak and kidney pie with chilli mash mushy peas and onion gravy.
Excellent food and great craic at the pie and bottle shop. Owners are a great couple. I can recommend this place to anyone who is in or around North Shields. I'm really looking forward to going back.
Love this place.... Simple, no nonsense geordie fayre served in an authentic atmosphere. Mince pie with mushy peas, creamy mash and onion gravy with a mug of steaming tea followed by a sticky toffee pudding and custard.
Excellent way to spend your lunch time.
Loved my pie, mustard mash and minty peas! Hit the spot and gravy was thick and delicious. Really friendly staff chatting to customers and putting up with my feral toddler running around climbing on things. We'll be back!
Popped in today to see what it was like... Just brilliant. Staff are lovely. Food great. Just superb. They also sell craft ales to drink with your meal. Just brilliant. Steak pie was best I've tasted for decades.
Probably my new favourite small bar/venue. Food is incredibly cheap and incredibly tasty (spoilers - it's all pie). They've started branching out into events - open mic, comedy, etc. Every one I've been to has been fresh, fun and memorable.
Great little place, but can get very busy. However, this is the only downside. Great pies baked on the premises with a choice of sides including mushy peas or beans and then a choice of mashes and gravies. Awesome stuff, and great value. Huge range of local beers in the bottle shop to have with your meal or take away. Highly recommended. Go off peak (we went on a Wednesday at about 1 and it was fairly quiet) and you'll have loads of room.
