I booked the private dining room for my 40th birthday celebration and it was absolutely perfect. We had exclusive use of the upstairs bar for pre-dinner drinks then enjoyed delicious tapas before heading back to bar for drinking and dancing. The staff were amazing and looked after us really well, I could decorate the room and bar how I liked (tropical/flamingo themed) and used my own play list for the music! I totally recommend this place to anyone whatever the occasion.
Amazing place, staff were great making you feel welcome from start to finish😀 Music and food were excellent. Can't wait to go again!!! Would really recommend. Xxx

Excellent food, not a massive choice but delicious. Interior decor is wonderful ( not keen on mirrors in ladies ! ).. defo will be back. Staff all very friendly and do anything to help ( making coconut margueritas ).. live music playing too which enhanced the atmosphere .. just couldn’t fault it .. well done everyone.. forgot to add hurray for the gluten free menu ..
Rare you find a perfect place which has it all but my goodness I've found it here. Outstanding food and drinks. The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldnt do enough for you. Atmosphere absoutely fabulous!! Can't wait for my next visit.
Impressive re-opening to this iconic Jesmond location, great, friendly, modern menu concept very well executed. The re-development of the building is fantastic, very authentic and classy. A great idea for a unique style of restaurant for Newcastle, well done to all involved.
I organised a baby shower for my sister, at El Paso on Sunday 3rd June, and to sum it up in one word - AMAZING!!! From the very beginning when we first visited the restaurant to look at the private dining options, the lovely girl who we spoke to (Lucy) couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and Nothing was too much trouble. Even though the food was delicious, beautifully presented and cocktails were fab too, the best thing about El Passo is their staff. We were able to go in the day before to set up, which was a huge help on the day, and the manager Phil couldn’t have been more accommodating. On the actual day of the baby shower, everything was so relaxed and enjoyable, and this was all down to the staff. A special mention to Jamie, Lucy and Matt, who all ensured we had a great time. Lucy in particular, took great care of us, and was an excellent waitress, making sure everything was just perfect! The staff deserve a huge THANK YOU! This day was just perfect and I would highly recommend the venue, the lunch menu is really good value for money and very tasty too! And what could be better than fabulous cocktails
A spontaneous visit to El Paso , couldn’t fault it , lovely surroundings amazing food , the sangria was lovely too , but the waitress Sammy was absolutely amazing, really helpful choosing the food , her recommendations were spot on , really nice to see an effort made by restaurant staff 10/10 it made our visit , will definitely be back , thanks Sammy if you read this
Food is unbelievable and cocktails are sure to get you on the tipsy side spot on place and excellent experience. Definately would recommend!
Enjoyed a great night... the food/drinks were fabulous the staff were very friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend
Exceĺlent food and service. I ate from the lunch menu and the tostados were lovely! Fruit smoothie and cocktail were very special too. Can't wait to eat there again.
Super afternoon at El Paso. We were really well looked after. The food was delicious and the vibe was great. Looking forward to coming back for more of that cod.
Cool concept, great decor and so nice to do something different!
From the minute we arrived we thought Wow!!
The decor is amazing and we were made to feel very welcome.
Food was lovely, staff amazing and such a brilliant atmosphere. Can't wait to return to try some other dishes and sample the cocktail menu since I could not drink on this occasion.
We will definitely be recommending to family and friends.
Thank you El Paso for a brilliant night!!
Really enjoyed the food here. It was a Friday lunch so the place wasn't too busy. I grew up in the USA and love decent Mexican food, this place lived upto my expectations but with some twists on the food. I had Latin croquettes to start and they were really delicious. As a main I has the pulled pork tacos and they were just amazing, I could have eaten 5! I'll be back for more in the near future! Thanks El Paso.
First visit and had a great meal this evening. Terrific food, good service, nice vibe. Not expensive either.
great decor. fabulous food .friendly service.
Absolutely wonderful food! Lovely setting. Will definitely return
Lovely place. Really nice atmosphere and staff are the perfect level of friendliness. Definitely recommend the cloud catcher tea, so much more than a tea, its an event, a ceremony, a moment. The dark chocolate torte as well. My mouth was watering as I was eating it, and it was flanked beautifully by real ice cream. Not stuff crunchy with ice crystals out of the freezer. It was thick and creamy. With sweet sharp red berry sauce. El Paso is amazing.
Amazing food and service. Very pleased
Out for a few beers in Jesmond and jumped into El Paso for an off-the-cuff bite to eat.
The place was quiet as was 2pm on a Friday but this did not detract from the atmosphere.
Fantasticly authentic music. Great service, lovely surroundings and unreal food. The lentil enchilada is one of the best vegetarian dishes I've ever had- packed full of flavour. I would like to compliment the front of house staff for their service and the kitchen for their food. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Newcastle!
Good atmosphere. Good food. Clearly still a new restaurant working out quirks. Doesn't have a regular margarita on the menu. They only advertise flavoured margaritas. My biggest gripe is that they put mushy peas on the fish tacos and call it "pea guacamole". Guacamole literally means avocado sauce. Pea guacamole is NOT thing. And it doesn't belong on Mexican food. Please take that off the menu. Otherwise very good.
YOU SHOULD INCLUDE THIS RESTAURANT ON YOUR TO DO LIST when you are visiting Newcastle. I was there with my family nearly 2 months ago and I promised to write a review. Even after 2 months I still remember the flavour of the food, friendliness of the staff and beautiful interior.
We ordered red sangria jar and drank about four of them. This is a must to try. Together with the main course we ordered the tapas. The goat cheese, patatas bravas, calamari. All of them just got us more excited for the main course. Next I got burrito with pulled beef and I tried the Death Sauce that came in it's very original glass craved into a skull.
The waitress was so nice that we enjoyed our stay even more. Her behaviour was natural and very friendly.
I would give this restaurant more stars if it would be possible because they deserve it. I am sorry for reviewing my stay two months later, but I hope this will give others better idea how satisfied I was and they will visit.
And please, don't be like me and if you really like something write your review right away :)
I am including only one picture of my food from that day, it's not a good quality (I realised that I should make a photo after tasting it 😊) because I am taking pictures and writing reviews only when I am very satisfied :).
I don't often do Mexican... but this place has turned my head big style! Delicious!
Not a lover of Mexican food due to past experiences. This is a huge exception
The food is superb. Freshly made. Very well presented . Packed with flavour. The ambience also superb . Staff exemplary.
Highly recommended by us.
Good food and excellent, attentive service. Starters especially good. Great selection of mains. Desserts (we had churros and ice cream) also really nice.
Atmosphere superb - highly recommend trying this place out.
We came for our my Husband's birthday last night and it was superb. The food was fun and the staff made our evening amazing. Really good fun and excellent food. Thanks for a great night. We will be back

We had a fab time on launch night, the tempura king prawns and chicken wings with chilli and pineapple were delicious. Decor is much improved from last venue, with a relaxed atmosphere.
Great food, friendly staff, clean and comfortable tables. What more can you ask for? Clear recommendation from me to anyone who wants to get his hands on some tasty Mexican/Californian cuisine :-)
Such great food, loved it. Really nicely fitted out restaurant and the staff were SO nice! Totally recommend a visit if you're in Jesmond 👍🏼
