Always excellent food with a full range of authentic Chinese specialities and dim sum as oppose to the “European” Chinese style served in many other places. I have been a customer here over 35 years and never had anything disappointing yet. The staff and service are great. Highly recommended!
2nd time I visited Palace garden and both times the food and service was top notch. If you're looking for an exquisite chinese meal at a reasonable price Palace Garden is the place.
Best Chinese ever, every time we come here it's beautiful food, the service lovely and the staff are very nice and welcoming. I would recommend the restaurant to all people
My first visit and hubbys 2nd wonderful food very friendly and attentive staff. Can't recommend enough we will certainly be going back
Very friendly place lovely food would recommend must try !!!
Palace Garden is where I grew up Yum Cha every Sunday with families for the last 30 year, celebrated many Birthday, Wedding, Moon Festival and Chinese New Year Banquet over the year. The food is amazing and the lovely waiters couldn't do enough for us. Customer service was as great as the food. Highly recommend.
Yet again a lovely family meal. Food great and staff second to none. Always make you feel welcome and nice touches for nephews birthday. Thank you again we be back soon
My favourite Chinese Restaurant. Very authentic and the best dim sum! Always a warm welcome, highly recommended!
I went for a meal on Saturday night with my girlfriend the service was excellent and the food was amazing definitely will be back again soon
Fist time I'd been in a couple of years, glad to see that the menu is still thoroughly excellent. Service was as good as you could ask for.
Out for friends 50th birthday celebrations lovely meal friendly helpful staff

Best Chinese food I've had and service was 5 star
Great food, great service and staff - fantastic yet again xx
Best authentic Chinese food in Newcastle, when the Chinese people go there it says it all.
Good and service was amazing. Well worth a visit.
Last time we went here it was 12+ years ago, its still going. They were understaffed due to part time students returning home but still got good service and tasty food. Not a bad choice, still, to eat here.
The food is delicious and authentic. DIMSUM variety are OK and menu list, wow ... all are chinese food. Willing to come back in the future.
Lovely food and mostly good service. My partners soup was cold. He sent it back twice. This was followed by apologies from the manageress and several of the waiting staff, and accompanied by a significant reduction in the bill. They did all they could to make the situation right. The food was very good. We would certainly go back again.
Visiting Newcastle, we were looking forward to good Chinese food. We were not disappointed at Palace Garden. The food was excellent and arrived quickly - always a bonus when eating out with kids. The menu is very long and could be off-putting. Our strategy was to order a range of different dim sum plates to share amongst the table. I'd recommend this approach as we got to sample a larger range from the menu.
Nice interior and good quality food
Went here for graduation dinner night! Table of 10 for my Malaysian family and they were very pleased ! Chris the manager was so welcoming and went out of the way to accommodate to our needs. The owner of the restaurant is lovely as well xxx definitely a gem ! 💕 it's rare to find authentic Chinese/Cantonese restaurants nowadays due to the influx of mainland Chinese restaurants (which taste completely different!)
I've seen and worked in their kitchens as a contractor. I still eat here and find the food to be very nice. That should tell you all you need to know! The owners, Peter and his lovely wife Ann are lovely people, they can't do enough to please you!
Amazing for Chinese food. Quality is great and consistently good especially dim sums. Sometimes it very hot and miss in many places this place has the best consistency when it comes to dim sums. If you love Chinese food and din sums then for sure come here and visit. 👍 Thoroughly recommended.
I've been here a few times with the family and on all of those occasions, both the food and the service have been excellent. One of the reviews below states that the staff are unfriendly - however, they were some of the friendliest people I've ever came across. I almost never leave reviews but this place is thoroughly deserving of 5 stars.
This place is an institution. Excellent dim sum menu, and you can get some real classic dishes here - not just for the lemon chicken brigade, though they are well catered-for as well. Staff are really friendly & the prices are reasonable, which is always pleasing too.
I've been here since I was a child and I'm glad to say it's interior hasn't changed at all (except the major pond inside but sadly it was due to children throwing food in it to the fishes). The food is exceptional and the service is friendly, family friendly but not wheelchair accessible.
I can’t rate this restaurant highly enough, the staff were absolutely fantastic and made each of my visits an event. The food is very authentic, flavoursome and pretty much ticks all the boxes you would want ticked. Again, wonderful, wondeful place!
I would highly recommend. The food, the choice of menu, and price, the service, attention to detail is excellent. You never feel rushed or pressured. Definitely well worth a visit.
A good selection of dim sum on brought around on trolleys on a Sunday. There are a lot of tables here but they're not packed closely together so plenty of space to enjoy your meal.
I was hungry after the gym and went to palace garden to eat with my friends. I was introduced by a flight of stairs leading towards the restaurant where it revealed a comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was on point when I got the 3 roast with rice. The duck was succulent flowing with juices containing hardly any fat, the roast belly pork had the crispiest, flavourful skin with melt in the mouth meat and the roast char siu pork was bursting with hoi sin flavour, some would say this experience was other worldly as I was really really hungry
