We had Sunday lunch here yesterday. This was our first time in the Poachers Cottage. I can thoroughly reccomend this beautiful, friendly place. The food is outstanding, the serving was plentiful and well presented. This is a hidden gem. Very child friendly also. We booked last minute and on arrival the staff went out their way to find us a table. I will be returning mid week to sample another delight. Thankyou.

1st time we have been and came on a recommendation from a friend. Had a great meal, and it is genuinely home cooked food, not corporate mass produced rubbish. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious with lashings of scrummy custard and nice that I could order food without gravy (which is not always the case in some restaurants). Also love the fact that Sunday dinner is served all day and doesn't stop at 2pm like most places, especially great since we like to eat late on Sunday's. All in all, had a great meal and would definitely recommend to others.

Have been here twice both times the food has been outstanding. There is something for everyone. On my last visit 5 of us had a variety of dishes meat, fish, and veggie. Everything arrived together and was nice and hot. You get what you pay for and more. I'll be back and highly recommend. PS the staff are so nice and friendly.

We've been coming here for several years now (and have also enjoyed a couple of special family events in the conservatory) Service is usually fast, friendly and efficient Food is tasty and good value. The ambience is cosy and has a welcoming, family atmosphere. We have a loyalty card and were thrilled to receive a Wedding Anniversary congratulations email. It offered us an opportunity to enjoy a starter or dessert on them when we went for our meal. Thanks Team Poachers you made our day!

On my doorstep but never been before. Was definitely worth the visit. It has to be the best value for money pub in the local area. Had a Halloumi starter which was lovely and very tasty. Had black and blue burger for main. Good portion sizes. Burger very tasty. Although I enjoyed the chips, usually I'd have less of them but chunkier. I can't fault the staff friendliness. Drink prices also very reasonable in the current climate. I will definitely visit again.

My local, staff are so lovely, chatty and accommodating. Food is always nice and hot as well as good sized portions - hope it stays this way, the decor has been the same for years but suits the location and style of the building, clean area and great atmosphere, will be back again πŸ˜†

First visit today for lunch. Place was very busy, and upbeat. A decent menu, quite varied , my dining partner and I plumped for the unsociable combo ,butterfly chicken breast with prawns in a creamy garlic sauce. Staff were very pleasant and helpful . Reasonable prices too. I would return.

We had to wait a short time for a table but that was fine. There were very few really healthy options on the menu. Between us we had scampi, steak and chicken. There were too many chips with each meal. The plates of food were huge but really a plate half the size would have been enough. Arriving after five o'clock we were too late for the lite bites, as a result we all left some of our meal. Staff were good, food was hot but too much.

Love a pub that has live bands on. The drinks are average priced for a pub. The staff are always lovely and friendly, and serve you quickly. Always enjoy our nights there.

I went for lunch at the Poachers cottage today. I haven't been there for many years, I wasn't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and great value for money. I was over the moon to discover they sell decafe coffee, as many pubs don't. It was delicious. The little mint chocolate served with the coffee was a lovely touch. I really enjoyed my visit and hope to be back again soon. Thank you so much!

Today was my first visit to The Poachers Cottage. Staff were lovely, food was amazing. Prices for food and drinks were extremely reasonable and the coffee was lush. Highly recommended. I will be a regular at this lovely friendly establishment. It is so nice these days to feel you have had value for money. Thank you.

Nice little pub (its quite big really) tucked away up a country road, obviously been a favourite of the locals and people who are prepared to drive for something to eat because it has survived so long. I would say it's worth a try and you'll come away with two eyes πŸ‘€ intact.

A wet day for a 10 mile sponsored walk, stopped for a pint and to rest our legs. Service great, staff pleasant, and sofas were far too comfy to get up and get going again!! πŸ˜€
