Me and my partner always make sure we visit this place when coming up to visit family in Newcastle. Very friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere, great beers and more. We had a meal here not too long ago on a very busy Saturday, and still couldn’t fault the service or delicious food. I’ll make it my mi
Excellent bar with lots of beer options.
Had an enormous 15 page menu of speciality beers from all over the world.
Good balance of stouts, lights, darks and then sours and lambic fruit beers as well.
We had a pizza to eat which was delicious and felt hand made and rustic.
Wonderful pub. The staff are incredibly charming and welcoming. The public areas are comfortably furnished and cosy. The selection of ale is very good. It's a dog friendly venue. Really nice customers too. I haven't eaten here but will do so in the future. My favourite pub in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Called in here for a drink on a cold day . Lovely, comfy seating areas and nice chilled atmosphere. Delicious hot chocolate (just needed to be piping hot )
Plenty of space and a cosy atmosphere.
Great selection of beers.
This is a good place, but not very gluten friendly. The food was delicious and relatively inexpensive. Friendly staff was able to instruct us on more gluten friendly options, but this is NOT a gluten free place. Drinks and food were terrific, though.
Literally walking past and decided to call in! Lots of choice in real ale, menu looked good so we ordered. My hubby got the Bourbon Smoker Burger and fries, I got the vegan 'chicken ' gyros and fries- flippen lovely!!! 👌
Really enjoyed our lunch trip here on Monday. £10.50 for a great gyros, side & a pint of lager. One of the best vegan ranges in Newcastle, a class selection of beer & friendly staff who are knowledgeable on their craft booze. Good music too! 🤘🏼
Had our staff party last night and have to say it was above and beyond. Emily organised it and set out a table reservation for our rather large group and it was ideal. Joe and his bartenders that night were friendly, welcoming and made some amazing drinks especially the honey margarita I was told. W
Nice, large pub in a nice location, on the Quayside in Newcastle. Lots of separate booths, seating well-spaced.
Owned by Cameron's and I was impressed with their own lager - plenty of flavour. Food likewise. The place had a great buzz about it. Will go again.
Really liked it here. Away from home with work I am often alone eating out and this place was perfect for that teatime slot. My only mild irritation was I used the app to order food. With most ordering apps you get a digital receipt for your order. This is very handy for processing expenses. I was a
Marvellous, with engaging and knowledgeable staff. Felt very welcome and excellent choice of cask and keg. In an ideal world the Untappd list would be up-to-date, but I liked it here and felt welcome.
Lovely ambience
Great atmosphere
Decor is quirky and unique
Good drinks selection offered
Staff always pleasant and helpful
Classy but simple place with an extensive range of craft ales . Had a burger with fries (which was gourmet class)and a pint of lager for £11. Themed bar based around music played 70s soul and funk which is all right by me .
Lovely pub, great selection of beer, even if I wimped out and had a gin! Great decor, friendly staff and outside seating area.
Great winter cocktails, great service & nice atmosphere.
Great food, efficient fast service with lovely friendly staff
First time in Newcastle, me and my wife were looking for somewhere to eat on the quayside and we stumbled across,"Head of Steam", probably not the kind of place we would normally choose, but what the heck we were both starving.
The meal came and it was really rather good, the staff were excellent to
Love it. Great staff, GOOOD FOOD! And good times. I am a meat eater but very vegan friendly on the menu too, and they sound tasty too! 😋
