We have driven two hours to Newcastle and were starving for some good food. Had a walk around and found this restaurant. Had ordered a grilled steak and a spicy risotto with beef. The steak was grilled just right. Very juicy inside and got crispy charcoaled texture outside. The risotto has got a great Mexican flavour with assorted spices and was simply yummy. The service was good. Will definitely visit again if I’ve got a chance.

Like this place. They have a good offer for lunch. One of my favourites is creamy vegetable soup 🍲 😋. You can also enjoy Sunday dinner. For choose from chicken, pork, and classic beef carvery. Sometimes it's quite busy. But it's worth waiting. One thing I would ask to change it is music 🎶. Sometimes it's ok, but others not OK..

Excellent value for money and the staff were superb. Potato skins for the starter and carvery for main. On a Sunday. £12

We came in here on the reopening and it was absolutely fabulous. Caley served us and she was absolutely amazing we couldn't not recommend her enough. Thank you. We will be back very soon :)

Food was delicious, me and my friends had half pizza and half pasta which is a great idea if you cannot decide between the two. It was a Monday evening so understandably not very busy and felt slightly rushed out towards the end. But funny and attentive staff.

I rarely think about going to Sambuca's and to be honest this was my second time but it has always surprised me with how good it is. While some of the food can be over priced for what it is, such as £12 for a pizza on its own, if you go at a time where there is a deal on like starter, pizza and coffee then the price is absolutely worth it. The garlic bread with cheese is the star of the show for me. While it's so simple, the bread is so soft and there is so much garlic butter it's delicious. If you've not been and you're after a nice, reasonably priced meal why not give it a go?

Absolutely outstanding service !! We were a group of 16 people and you know how stressful it must be for people who work in hospitality because of taking payments, taking the orders etc. However, Cailey turned up smiling and very professional ensuring everyone was enjoying their food and checking constantly we needed anything else. Also, it's relevant to mention that the toilets were spot on, so clean and proper bleach which is something to shout out too. We tend to complaint when we don't like things but I think they all deserve a good shout out for the service, friendliness, nice food and hygiene.

the food was lovely & staff super friendly. Only thing i have to say is they never checked back to see if the food was alright. Also they tried to charge me for something i didnt order so had to mention this & was very cold in the restaurant.

We've been coming to Newcastle from Coventry for a few yards now. Each time, we make sure to visit Sambuca. Always great food and great service. Thomas always remembers us, and this is why we enjoy coming to the Sambuca in Quayside. The 3 course meal for £6.95 is brilliant and the portions are pretty big. You get a choice of starter, main of pizza or pasta and dessert. On this occasion we just missed the offer, but we were stuffed from the mains on their own so didn't have room for dessert. We ordered the garlic bread for the first time and it was delicious. We ordered the Bolognese, lasagna, meat feast pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. There were no complaints from anyone as the for was nice. Pros - great food and great service Cons - cannot think of any As always, process are subjective. Please have a look at the menu before going in. We were really hungry, in hindsight the pictures would have been taken before we started eating.

Visited on 03/01/22.. Thought we'd try this place on the Quayside for my wife's birthday. It wasn't particularly busy so we got settled in pretty quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive. We sat in the conservatory area which looks on to the Tyne and the bridges (nice). Ordered drinks and food and it all came in good time without any hassles. Food was fine. Quite generous portions too. We paid about £115 for the five of us plus a tip. Not bad at all at today's prices. I'd say the highlight of the evening was our friendly host Thomas (proper Italian) who made us feel very welcome and relaxed. What a lovely guy! Even serenaded us with his guitar and songs for the best part of 15 minutes! We sang and laughed and it was just the best end to the evening. Sometimes you can feel awkward on such occasions but we really just enjoyed it so much. We'll definitely visit again.. Thank you Sambucas and Thomas.

We ventured out for a nice meal, the first time since lockdown and headed here for our occasional special treat, surf and turf. We added a side of garlic bread and onion rings seeing as we had set aside the rest of the day to sleep this feast off. Our food, as always, was excellent, my medium rare steak done to perfection. My wife always scoops off my seafood as I'm not fussed about it but she said the king prawns were divine and her medium steak delicious. Sambucas have adapted to the challenge of social distancing and provide a good environment to safely enjoy your meal. We noticed as nearby diners left their tables and chairs were promptly disenfected by the excellent waiting staff. Sambucas is still the best value and highest quality dining on the Quayside. Keep up the good work Sambucas. We will be back soon 😊
