Lovely relaxed atmosphere with friendly attentive staff. Could not fault the service. Food beautiful quality. Had melt in you mouth minute steak, seasoned to perfection. Fries & salad amazing. Topped off with rhubarb crumble & custard - divine. Will return but quite pricey for a quick lunch/tea but lovely as a little treat.

Firstly, can I say that the host/manager who shows you to tables etc is an absolute delight. I don't remember her name but she has dark hair and is so bubbly and friendly. An absolute credit. Our food was delicious and our requests were met without question. Perfect!

We had a lovely afternoon tea here today, itā€™s Ā£50 for two and was recommend by my mam for someoneā€™s hen party, all of the food was to a high quality and there was also plenty of it. Iā€™ll definitely be coming here again, the only downside is it took ages to be able to pay the bill and I didnā€™t feel as though the waiter was taking me very seriously when we explained that Iā€™m pregnant and canā€™t eat certain foods in the afternoon tea. Aside from that it was excellent!

Quick coffee stop. Not too busy, the coffee and chai latte were lovely.

We both had a starter and main course. The food came to us piping hot and surprisingly delicious as it was a clean and well kept restaurant in Fenwick. The service is very professional there as three waiters checked on us as they were working. It was a fair tally, but being vexed when going in and relaxed when exiting while having a good New Years Eve lunch was value for money.

Was a very busy bustling cafe found it difficult to chat and relax. Thought it was expensive 35 pounds for scrambled egg on toast and an omelette black coffee and cup of tea. However the food was tasty. There isn't much room between tables and you couldn't hold a private conversation over the noise of cutlery constantly being dropped plates clattering and everything else going on. We will unfortunately not be returning.

A beautiful lunch with my Father after lockdown. The whole shop, as well as this cafĆ©, was spotlessly clean and all the staff were very careful, constantly cleaning their areas. The waiting staff were very efficient and the kitchen staff supported them very well. It was just what we wanted and nothing we didnā€™t. Even after so long closed and the struggles endured by all, standards are being maintained which is a credit to all personnel involved.

Avocado has never tasted so good. Serious contender for the best avocado & sourdough combination in Newcastle - great service/hosting.

The Best Basque cheese cake in Newcastle, the top 1 sweets that I canā€™t give up even I am dieting. The staff are very lovely and kind, even though the price is a little high, but they definitely deserve it.

So, Cafe 21 isnā€™t all about the food. What I really admire is the staff. There are mainly older clientele here and the staff are simply amazing with them. They listen and show true interest into their customers lives. Itā€™s really inspiring, to add to this they seem to be silver service trained and overall the food is good. Made for a nice visit back to the uk.

Always our favourite place in the city centre for coffee, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea....if you only have one thing then try the cheese scone... Fenwick's have served the best cheese scones for over 50 years and still do... they're fantastic

Really enjoyed eggs with soldiers - tables for 2 are very close to each other bit difficult to get through the gap and enjoy your own conversation but service professional and nice coffee.

I decided to treat my mum to an afternoon tea here. It was Ā£22 for two and was quite delicious. The coffee was refilled several times and was quite delicious. The savoury and sweet treats were all scrumptious and quite filling. I also purchased a glass of prosecco for myself and that was the only let down. It wasn't as chilled as I would normally like and left a bitter after taste. Despite this everything else including the service was wonderful.

Excellent food and great service. There was a mistake with our order and they rectified it quickly and without fuss. The food was delicious. We have been here a number of times now and never been disappointed. Will definitely return.
