Good atmosphere and decent food. We went on a Sunday to have thali but the availability of other options is low on a Sunday. Good portion size but felt it's slightly over priced. Have not got coconut chutney for dosa in the thali (had it with sambar and chutney that was included in the plate).
Overall good experience.
The food was delicious.
The Ghee Roast Dosa with Masala is an absolute must-try.
We ordered mushroom manchurian as well and were satisfied with the taste, but the portion size was small, so we felt there was room for a little more.
The lassi was very thick and tasty, and the masala chai was typically cardamom tea.
We were a little dissatisfied with the food preparation time as we had to wait a lot for our order, and between consecutive meals (starters and main course), there was a long wait, and we had to keep looking at the kitchen for food. It may be due to less staff in the kitchen, but if that could be improved, there is no competition for Dosa Kitchen in terms of taste.
The overall experience was good. Thanks!
My experience at Dosa Kitchen was delightful from start to finish. The ambiance instantly put me at ease, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. What truly elevated the experience was the background music, with soothing instrumental tunes from Tamil Nadu that brought back fond memories and added to the overall cozy vibe.
As for the food, it was a taste of home away from home. The flavors were reminiscent of homemade dishes, comforting and satisfying. While the spice level wasn't quite as bold as what I'm used to back home, it still packed plenty of flavor and authenticity.
Dosa Kitchen truly shines when it comes to their specialty: dosas. I opted for the DK Special, and it quickly became my favorite. The dosa was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, filled with delicious fillings that left me craving more.
Overall, Dosa Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Tamil Nadu cuisine in Newcastle upon Tyne. Whether you're a dosa enthusiast or simply looking for a taste of home, this restaurant delivers. Highly recommended!"
Delicious Dosa Masala just like in India! Service friendly and lots of really interesting Southern Indian dishes to choose from. Quite busy and not too expensive. We had plenty to eat for £55 for two including beer.
The dosa was alright , when ordered for Paneer dosa it was served with shredded common cheese not paneer from any angle . The cutney for dosa wasn’t much of a wow . The kothu Porata was nice and the chilly chicken was really good. The atmosphere was nice with music and nice lights. The masala tea was also just ok kinda .
A great south indian resturant with dosa and biryani.
I had the podi masala dosa, it was amazing but the podi was missing red chilli in it. I also got the mango lassi, it was very good one of the best I had in a while.
The food was so tasty, Restaurant is beautiful. Service was very prompt and quick. The best part is that they import every single spices from India. We had filter coffee, which was amazing. The price of the most of the dishes were so cool. Me and my friend paid 25 pounds for Onion bhaji, 2 Dosa and 2 coffee. I would say it’s must try place to have south Indian food.
My new go to place for a space that offers flavours of home. Truly authentic in its south Indian flavour. Affordable and great ambience. The staff are warm and attentive.
Always a pleasure to dine there. I also order a lot from this restaurant. Lovely dosas and amazing Sunday sapaad. The waiters are really nice and polite.
Delicious food and great vegetarian food as well. Really nice to experience the various dishes. We were pleasantly full afterwards.
Highly recommended.
