Great food and vibe, took a while for a server to take our order and they seemed a bit rushed. Our food came out before our drinks but it was a weekend morning so it was busy.

I had been hankering after a good veggie breakfast while I was staying in Newcastle and Ernest's certainly fits the bill. We had the plant based breakfast with: hummus, cauliflower, spinach, potatoes, fakey bacon, beans, mushrooms, toast and added an egg and some halloumi. Well stuffed and all washed down with a ginger, lime and soda drink. Excellent start to the day and to explore the Biscuit Factory Art Gallery afterwards.

I’ve walked past here loads and finally stopped in as part of a group mid sunday morning. It’s got a lovely vibe very unique and friendly we were sitting out the back in a light filled room however this got progressively warmer as the time passed to almost greenhouse temperatures so I’m hoping in the summer months there are windows to open. Food wise I have to say I wasn’t that impressed. I got the halloumi hash bowl. It seemed to have the smallest egg possible, barely any hollandaise, skimped on the spinach and was very heavy on the potatoes. Something the 5 other people in the group who got the bowls mentioned. It was like having a bowl of roasties for brunch. For £12 I was hoping for better and have a feeling this place trades on its vibe a little. Having said that I’d be happy to go back try more of the menu, take a seat outside and people watch.

The food itself was wonderful and so tasty (see photo attached). However, there was little options for people who dont like egg (like myself) which is something to consider (i simply gave the egg to my friend, but some people may not want to do that). Our server was very pleasant.

Feb-24 Absolutely wonderful place, completely individual, great atmosphere even when quiet, great drinks including home made sodas, and the food is truly scrumptious!! Highly recommend, and great value too.

We had just arrived in Newcastle and quickly needed a place to have dinner. Ernest did not disappoint. The chicken kebab is not your average kebab. It was a creative, great tasting full meal on a pita. Highly recommended. The kids had loaded fries which they loved as well. Beer selection was pretty good and there's a large selection of cocktails to choose from. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I'd gladly come back again.

The food we had was nice but there isn’t a lot of selection for people who don’t like eggs (there was only the granola). I had the saag aloo hash bowl with no egg which was nice. It’s great this place is dog friendly and the atmosphere is cool. Cocktail list looked great too!

Loved my veg hash bowl, but Turkish eggs on toast were way too spicy. Great brunch place and their lemonades are sooooo good, especially the ginger beer mint one! Also they are dog friendly.

Lovely place for a wonderful tasty and filling breakfast - almost too much! But I managed to leave a clean plate. I like the fact there is no "optional service charge" added - but I was happy to tip for lovely service.

The place is very cute and friendly to take a drink or even have a meal. I would advise going in the morning to take advantage of the english breakfast who is delicious.
