After a journey from hell into Newcastle we stopped at a Côte Brasserie which is a couple of minutes walk away from the train station. For a Wednesday night the restaurant was quite full. It had a lovely ambience and warmth as soon as we walked in. The friendly waiter greeted us and seated us to a table where our suitcases would not bother anybody.
We ordered some alcoholic beverages, I doubled up on my gin and tonic. Côte Brasserie is a French inspired restaurant with a number of these chained restaurants across the UK.
My colleague ordered the Chargrilled 8oz Ribeye steak with frites and garlic butter. He was impressed with the steak as it melted in his mouth and was not chewy. I tried a few of the frites which were perfectly crisp. I ate the Seabass with a side of artichokes and green salad. I was surprised I had two pieces of seabass in my plate. The fish was delicious and cooked to perfection. The artichokes were a little plain. I prefer mine marinated and these were steamed. Overall a wonderful dining experience, especially the service. The waiter was very attentive. The restaurant knew how much of a hassle it was to get to Newcastle so they actually put the drinks on the house! I love the Newcastle hospitality! Thank you for making us feel welcome and I will definitely dine here again!
We came for the Valentine's Day meal, and had an incredible time. Food was, as always, amazing, the drinks were great, and the server was entertaining, welcoming and made us feel special. Cannot wait for our next visit!
We had a great lunch. Good good and great cocktails. Loved the fix price menu.
