I was a student in Newcastle and this was the only place that i find it very relaxing and comfortable and not to mention it opens till 12. Used to spend lots of my time there from 7-12pm with my roomies playing monopoly or just simply to chat.
I enjoyed most of the teas in here, very aromatic and calming.

Although I was born down south (London way) my mum is from the area. This place some cousins of mine have been recommending for ages. When I was last in Newcastle I managed to pop in and it was a dream. You must head there, great cakes, puff pastry (everything pretty much!!!!) and coffee. You won't regret it!!!

My favourite cafe ever!! I will always love this place! Amazing food, personal favourite is their Mexican pulled pork! If you are a tea person you'll love it here!! Perfect little break point!

Great place to go for breakfast. From a veggie point of view does some decent burgers and falafel. But I think what makes this place unique is the ambience and proximity to the university. Great for a post lecture/exam breakfast/ tea.

Quilliam brothers is a very nice place to just sit and relax with your friends , they've got a cozy seatings downstairs with many board games you can play.

The tea collection they have is superb and you will want to try alot because you will be curious with the flavours of tea that are available. While enjoying your tea, quilliam brothers have small cinema on the lower level of the cafe. Check out the timings for the movies in the cinema in their website .

Lovely relaxing calm atmosphere. Right in the heart of st thomas church and monument 1917 statue and memorial place. As well round the corner is free entry north museum. The service was pleasant and friendly. Two floor plenty of space, toilet facilities. The value of price is reasonable good. Worth a visit if you staying in Newcastle for a day

Can never go wrong with a dot bagel! The cake was also excellent and my mother thought the tea selection was fantastic but disappointed they weren’t served in bigger mugs. Service was a little rushed and unfriendly but it is a very busy location

Food is incredible (dog bagels need more outlets in the North East!!) amazing selection of teas, but the coffee is a bit average. Service was friendly but slow and forgetful.

My grandma and I visited Claremont Teahouse for the first time since it took over Quilliams and we loved it! We sat in a nice little corner away from everyone else and it had a big window to look out of - one of the things I love about the building. There were a wide range of teas to choose from - I tried a fruit tea. It was very lovely and sweet. My grandma had a quiche and I had a posh fish finger sandwich. We both enjoyed our food. The waitress was lovely and didn’t mind helping us with any questions we had! Will definitely return.

Food and drinks were great. We only cakes, but the food looked marvellous. The cafe / restaurant was busy, most tables were taken. Service was a little slow due to how busy they were. I am glad that we visited and highly recommend a visit.

Lovely place with some great ideas, we visited on the first day of it opening, it was busy but the waitress saved us a table. The food was good and well presented the range of tea was amazing also the egg timer was a nice little touch. The only thing we found is that our order was wrong but we just put this down to teething problems

The atmosphere is great and there is a big variety of teas and drinks, the Cafe is big and nicely decorated. There is quite a few selections of food as well but the reason I put 4 stars is because the food was not as good as I thought and it could be a lot better.

Serving over 60 loose teas (and other drinks if tea is not your thing) there'll be something you like. Me, I always like an Earl Gray and he enjoyed his Darjeeling but think he enjoyed his cake more. 🎂 Plenty of choice on food front too including breakfast. Upstairs was pretty full so we went downstairs where it's quieter. Fast service fron lovely staff. Seemingly they are going to open a micro cinema in the future 😯

Amazing coffee and food, plus great atmosphere and service. Super friendly staff despite how busy it is. Can't hold how busy it is against them when they've only just opened and they haven't opened downstairs yet.

Seated downstairs, initially was quite a long wait for our order and subsequently for drinks to arrive (hence 4 star Vs 5). The food was great, the table adjacent ordered bagels which looked amazing but we just had some snack bits which tasted awesome. We used to come when it was QB, one thing that fell short was the tea, it came with the leaves still in and no saucer etc. To remove meaning that the tea was quickly overbrewed. One thing which always stood out was the rigour of tea making at QB, Claremont still use many of the same teas but for some reason don't adopt the brew instructions of the old QB tins and leave the tea in the pots. Recommend to provide a timer to go with the tea pot and a saucer to stand it on once brewed (which seems a mess on and recipe for lots of noise and mess on). Or just brew at bar and serve the ready brewed tea as QB used to do.

A dog friendly cafe that I come to again and again. A large selection of teas to try, the savoury food is delicious, and the sweet treats are massive, making them great value and ideal for sharing. Service can be slow at times, but all the positives make it worth it. I am already planning my next visit for a bagel sandwich.
