Had a cracking meal here last night. The manager who served us was very friendly, continually smiling, and welcomed us warmly.
We had the halloumi and the Greek sausage stew for starters.
The Moussaka and a chicken Gyros (without tzatziki) for mains.
Glass of wine and a bottle of beer came to £40.3
Visited for restaurant week. Was very accommodating for walk-ins, staff were all extremely friendly. The decor of the restaurant is great and really captures the atmosphere you'd expect from a genuine Greek taverna. The food was excellent and I'm looking forward to visiting again and trying the rest
We went on a date and we could not decide so we had the mezze sharing platter.
It was really good but there was soo much all piled onto one plate.

Very good Greek food that comes in large portions as well. Love their gyros, always fresh and served with crispy chips. It has excellent meat to salad ratio. The tzatziki is also delicious. Add to that, fantastic service from the staff everytime I've been there.
I really like the design of this place! and All the walls are mainly painted in white and blue in order to show the Greek architecture traits. Their service is also very nice, all the staff are efficient and friendly. Also the food is amazing. Chicken was really soft and the fries are not too oily.
Visiting Newcastle and decided visit Kafeneon as had enough of fried food. Staff are amazing and good communication.
Food was absolutely spot on, felt like I went back to Greece. Massive portions and great selection. Definitely worth a visit!

Food is spectacular and value for money. I had the big fat Greek gyros dinner and it was magic. Greek sausage, lamb kebab, chicken souvlaki, pork gyros and banging home made chips the dinner was beautiful, well presented and well served. If you want to go to the best restaurant in the whole of the north east, then go here. They have a full Gluten Free Menu too which is brilliant. I always have the Yemista Peppers.

I came in for dinner and was able to order from the early evening menu and get 2 courses for £14.95 (Saganaki and Beef Stifado).

Kafeneon is well worth a visit. Food is great and they make really good coffee. Staff is great always friendly and helpful. Place looks great inside out since refurb was done. We come here as a couple or with kids and always have great experience.
Lovely spot in town that I would recommend going to! The service was superb and the chicken souvlaki was wonderful. The only improvement needed is with the fries that were not edible but otherwise 5/5!
Lovely place. walked in with no booking on a friday night and they squeezed us in, quick service good food and decent prices. One of the best meals we ate in Newcastle
