Visited today while out shopping with my partner. I had the fried chicken blue cheese chilli jelly melt ,my other half had steak ciabatta with sweet potato chips. We asked for the ciabattas to be split so we had half steak half chicken on each other's plate and both tasted very very good sweat potato chips were the nicest chips I've tasted. We also had dessert I had the keylime cheesecake and partner had Oreo cheesecake mine was to die for was gorgeous. Had a taste of partners and his was delicious to. Very friendly service will be paying bar social a visit very soon again. Really good food for a very reasonable price..

Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff who made my 30th birthday party in the Tap and Gin bar upstairs a fabulous night! Everyone commented on how lovely the buffet was! Bar staff were lovely, We all had a great time, definitely recommend this as a party venue � thanks again xxxx

Had my hen party here on Saturday and it was fabulous. The party was 1920s themed and venue was perfect for this but would be great for any theme. Plenty of space and we had the whole of the upstairs to decorate and do a Chicago the musical themed dance. Food was great and plenty for everyone, staff really friendly, great choice of gins/other drinks and really good atmosphere. Owner was really accommodating and helpful. Would definitely recommend for party, thanks Bar Social wonderful memories ����
On Wednesday 9 November I visited Newcastle under Lyme. I had been invited to an album launch evening of great live music. The artist Kim Tink is from the town & hosted this great night of live music. The venue is upstairs to a bar/pub & also has its own bar, which serves craft beer, lager & other drinks. The venue has plenty of seats, couches & tables & we can relax & listen to music or we can stand or dance on the floor space immediately in front of the stage. The acoustics were also good.
Out with friends and decided to try the bottomless deli, we weren't disappointed, great values for money, £25 for 90 minutes of unlimited wine (large list to chose from) or Lager plus a large platter of cheese (4 different kinds), pate, bread, crackers pickles and more, bigger portions than I was expecting, would definitely do it again and have would recommend to others. Staff were great too

Went to a private party. It was very good. The food was great vegan, vegetarian and ordinary was very tasty. The bar staff a young man worked very well under some pressure and upheld the companies rules snd licensing laws despite being challenged. Well done.

We had the pleasure of holding my daughters 18th birthday party at Bar Social. Although when booking in October, I sensed issues with the management, and hoped I'd made the right choice. The time came to double check on my booking only to find the management had changed. Understanding my concerns they ensured me that they would provide everything to make the party a success. And they did.
So my review is based on my overall experience of the venue staff food etc.
I can honestly say the management in charge now Joffy, Vinnie and Dan did everything they could to make the night a success. Very polite efficient and a helpful crew. The staff, Jess , Sayer and others were absolutely brilliant,couldnt do enough for our guests.
The venue upstairs is perfect for parties so classy. If you want a party please have a look here first!!!. Highly recommended
The buffet @ £6 ahead was sufficient for this kind of event with plenty of party food provided.
All in all Bar Social I give u 5*. Lovely place and Thank You from us all.
Good large-sized bar near to the cinema. On two levels with a special gin bar upstairs. It's roomy and you can generally find a table for you and your friends even at peak times on weekends. No great shakes in the beer selection but they have a huge selection of spirits and they make cocktails too. Food is also available.
Cocktails are banging. Lady with sick short hair and glasses very welcoming and checked back on our drinks even after payment. Deserves some beefy payrise. I'd hire her. Lol. Sick place overall!
Great bar with extensive bottle, draft and spirit selection. Very central for Newcastle but just excellent for the Vue cinema. Stop in for a drink before a film. Gets very busy later on and on a weekend. There is also a gin bar upstairs but I've never been myself.
The new owners have made a fabulous job of renovating this building. The decor is top notch and really upmarket in the area. It's great to find a nice new venue in Newcastle.
There is a great gin menu and they're priced around £7-9 with mixer. Well priced lager and ales.
There is a small covered smoking area to the rear with a large TV screen so you can keep up with any action aired inside....though I really do hope that this doesn't become just another day time drinkers hang out because it deserves more.
No evening in Newcastle is complete without a trip to Hogarths Gin Palace (don't forget to visit Ten Green Bottles on Merial Street too).
Good bar with excellent choice of drinks ranging from hard liquor, beers, lagers, wines and cocktails. Food is also served and the menu is simple but a good choice of food. Live music when I was there and singer was excellent. The bar is also situated in handy place by the cinema and walk through to town. 👍👍

I have now been to Bar Social pretty much once a week since it opened (about 2 and a half years ago), the only weeks i couldn't go were when I was away or working too much. We don't go anymore. I feel two and a half years is a good period of time to get your feel of a place. We love the way the place looks and feels, the selection of drinks is also excellent. But i can safely say out of every meal i've eaten (one every week), perhaps only 3 have been particularly enjoyable, all other are either average of below average. I don't think i've ever had a consistent quality meal here on consecutive weeks. Part if this may be down to the always changing kitchen staff, whom i rarely recognise week by week. I will most definitely return to Bar Social in the future, but it will no longer be a weekly occurrence and it will very rarely involve food.
Called in last night after taking our son to the arcade opposite. Cocktails are good at 2 for £8 between 6 and 8pm. Not busy but getting busier by the time we left.
The staff are absolutely amazing here. I will definitely be making an effort to return as the customer service here is so good. Nice clean place fast service, chilled atmosphere.
Good place! Staff always ready to take your order at the bar. Even if the bar is crammed you seem to get served pretty damn quick!
