Hi it was my daughters 21st birthday meal a party of 11x we all had different meals from mixed grills to chicken skewers even a burger challenge meal the food was excellent we forgot candles for the cake and the staff put some on the cake for us they were pleasent and couldn't do enough for us nothing was to much trouble despite being really busy.
I would recommend the Polite Vicar to anyone Excellent food Excellent staff they made the night a complete joy 5x stars all the way.
My wife & I called in Sunday 15/4/2018....it was very busy & couldn’t see any tables spare,so we decided to go the bar & ask the staff & she was polite & friendly & said find a table with no reservation on it which we did eventually! Anyway we ordered the food & it came & it was delicious,but our only gripe was we had to wait a very long time for our food but I’d totally recommend this place to anyone!
Went with my family on Wednesday 30th august 2017 , lovely clean place, bar staff very chatty , polite , food was anasimg, my partner had the defeat the meat, I had the chicken New Yorker lovely food, would defo recommend this place to friends, can't wait to go again xx keep up the good work guys at polite Vicar x
Back again for my favourite meal, 10oz Ribeye, Mac n cheese with a side of burnt end beef waffle fries! Mmmm. Really good value for money, friendly staff. I would definitely recommend!
Visited 8/7/18 lots of people sitting outside enjoying the weather we chose to sit inside to have our meal once again had a very enjoyable meal nice friendly staff meal always nice can't fault it
We went this after noon or early dinner ,surroundings and staff were very good ,and food was delicious ,my wife had chicken tikka and I had a burger which I must say they have greatly improved on .. definitely be going back�
Just popped in to check out the refurb and it looks loads better than before. The Signature Stack Burger was delicious, followed by Cookie Dough Cheesecake. The wife says that Flaming Grill burgers are the best. Oh and the staff and service is top notch too. Highly recommended.

Large pub which serves food and good selection of beers. Free car park. Located on main road, just off A500 near Newcastle under Lyme. Need to visit again to try the food. Seating area outside at front of pub.
Visited at lunchtime on a Friday and it filled up quickly. We got there just as it opened however a sign was put up immediately on the bar to say that any food would be at least a 30 minute wait as the chef had only just arrived. When ordering we were told that 2 of the dishes we wanted were out of stock so had to choose others. There was a long wait for the food (close to an hour) but it was delicious once it arrived. Food was fresh and warm and plenty of it.
Very nice pub/restaurant. Great atmosphere, very cosy, plenty of space, tables not too close. Nice and warm on a cold day, nicely decorated for Xmas season. Mixed grill was really nice, well cooked, well presented and nice and hot and fresh. The Epic sundae was delicious, would recommend. Staff were very nice and friendly. Barman was nice and Kira the waitress, was friendly, attentive and very quick and efficient, best waitress I have seen anywhere. Very welcoming atmosphere and staff. This is part of the GreeneKing pubs, excellent. We will definately come here again.
Called in as a pit stop on a long journey. Stayed for a couple of pints ( those who weren't driving ). Great atmosphere, plenty of room. Would definitely pick it out for a stop if passing again.
I'm only giving the food 3 stars because it's standard pub fare. Everything was cooked as good as it could have been. Always busy which can lead to a queue at the bar sometimes but nice atmosphere with sport in multiple TVs and families so a decent place to go
Busy place. Not easy to get in but we managed at short notice. Toilets fall a little short of a good clean but the food was well presented and tasted lovely. Had to wait approx 40 mins but it was Saturday evening so can’t grumble. Great location next door to the theatre with a decent car park . Worth a visit
A few of us went for a meal to celebrate a family birthday. The food was really nice and there were lots of offers on the menu both for young and old, the staff were friendly, would vist again
Had the chicken sharing platter for 2. Lots of lovely food cooked perfectly and piping hot. Most enjoyable. Will have this again.
Had a nice meal. The atmosphere was great with a mixture of people having meals and others with friends having a drink. We were lucky as we hadn't booked but were able to get the last available table. Theres a decent choice of drinks and the staff are great.
Visited 2/12 one of the best burgers ever tasted well done to the chefs Isaac & John. Lovely hosting from Maia will definitely be returning

Food came quicker then expected (told over 1hr wait) Very tasty and good sized portions, only down side was it seemed to go cold quickly.
