Always risky recommending your favourite curry house to friends but always confident the food is consistently good here and thrilled our guests from Lincoln thought it worth the trip.
I ask for my favourite starter that is no longer on the menu and it seems to be a matter of pride for the staff to provide it and my husband, a true chilli addict, asking for their recommendation, again, off menu, seems to provide a challenge amidst a busy service on a Saturday night that the chef is happy to oblige. The tastiest curry he has eaten for some time around the area. Our guest wanted a fish curry but with a sauce, and having taken the time to explain that sauces tend to overwhelm the fish, took pride in providing a sauce with extreme care taken to make it really tasty. Drinks can be slow but happy enough talking with our guests not to notice too much. Thank you.

Great to hear that the food hygiene rating is back to what it was, I never doubted it to be honest probably just because of paperwork. Been coming here for years never had a bad meal always been fantastic food and service. Best curry around!
Went last night. Been before but not for a while. We all enjoyed our food very much. Service was excellent and the waiters had a sense of humour and were friendly. We'll definitely return.

My New Favourite. Recently tried Jalsa Tandoori and was very impressed. The chicken tikka starter was moist and flavoursome while the lamb tikka jal noor puri was bursting with peppers, chillies, onions, tomatoes and delicious slices of lamb, The pillau rice alone was nicer than some of the main meals at other restaurants, What with an excellent drinks selection, relaxed ambience and friendly staff you really can't go wrong with this place.

Great Food, Crap Booking Service!. The food at Jalsa really is good, the drink selection isn't great but the real dampener for this restaurant is the booking service.
We have been 3 times now and each time we have rung to book, then upon arrival have been told our name isn't on the list.
This is really frustrating because the food is good quality, the restaurant is just let down by the service. They just fill the tables and for those who have booked its tough.
Two weeks ago I decided to book in advance for Valentines. On the day we decided to call the restaurant to ensure we were on the reservation list after our previous experiences. The guy who answered tho phone advised we weren't, but he would add us on as requested for 9pm.
At 9pm we arrived and guess what...We weren't on the list!
We waited and did get a table but you arrive and are treated like an unwelcome customer when this happens.
I dunno what the game is with you guys but sort it out, I know others who are frustrated with this and have witnessed people kicking off in the restaurant because of it. This is way I say "Great Foor, Crap Booking Service!"
Quality food. I really don't know what that guy Mo is talking about!!!! Jelsa's food is always good, no matter whatever i order its always tasty. Never had a flat drink either. GREAT food GREAT restaurant

Food is tasty and not too heavy, and the staff are friendly - very busy so a tad loud, worth booking in advantage. Classy, tasty and not too expensive.

When we first got there it was freezing, they did have the radiators on but I still had goosebumps for a good 30mins .. but then it did start to warm up so felt much more comfortable.

The lamb was superbly marinated and melted in my mouth. First class. The start of 'hot meat' was again delicious in texture, flavour and presentation. Excellent value for money. Not surprisingly very busy! Thanks to the charming staff too.
Large restaurant. limited parking. excellent food and plenty of choice Very nice decor and great for a special occasion meal. EDIT - this restaurant has CLOSED. New owners and new name from 2020 - MONSOON. Still the same kind of food. Not been to eat there due to the lockdowns
